Detunized releases Piano sound library for Live & Universal

Detunized Piano

Detunized has announced the release of “Piano”, an Upright Piano in a small venue.

Detunized Piano translates the spirit of a pretty old and battered Upright Piano into digital realms. Hosted in a small venue right beside an auto shop this particular Piano has undergone numerous Jazz and Blues sessions throughout the decades.

The Live Pack delivers the multi-sampled and velocity-layered Piano with separately adjustable sustain and release levels plus 7 additional instruments that push the classic piano sound far beyond the original.

Piano for Live features

  • Ableton Live Pack, compatible with Live 8/9.
  • 8 Ableton Instrument Racks (121 samples, 24 Bit/44.1 kHz)
    • Arper adds some heavenly arpeggios.
    • Damped sounds like a huge piano behind a wall.
    • Looped introduces random patterns during performance.
    • Morph combines formant-shifting with interesting side-noises.
    • Piano is the pure velocity-layered piano sound.
    • Peak brings in the taste of a prepared piano.
    • Remember 2133 can be tweaked from Grand to Honky Tonk.
    • Synth is a polyphonic stereo synthesizer.
  • 240 MB Sample content.

The Piano for Ableton costs 9 EUR.

Detunized Piano in Universal Format contains the velocity-layered sustain samples plus release sounds in separate patches.

Both patches can be combined in numerous software samplers like Kontakt, NN-XT, EXS 24, Halion, DirectWave, Dimension as well as each other software sampler that reads Cakewalk SFZ files.

Piano Universal features

Nucleus SoundLab intros DataBank Three soundset for Massive

Nucleus SoundLab DataBank Three

Nucleus SoundLab has released DataBank Three, a collection of 100 patches for the Massive software synthesizer by Native Instruments.

DataBank Three continues the legacy of Nucleus SoundLab’s popular line of Native Instruments Massive presets. Each of the 100 patches delves into untouched frontiers of sound design, while maintaining the extreme attention to detail the DataBank series is known for.

DataBank Three is still primarily produced by Nucleus SoundLab Lead Designer Jeremy Janzen. However, some new faces have also contributed patches to give a different flavour to the overall set. Adam Fielding and Shaun Wallace have been sound designer mainstays in Nucleus SoundLab’s Reason ReFills for years. In DataBank Three they apply that experience to Massive with their own characteristic style. The result is an eclectic mix of pulsing arpeggios, complex modular sequences, mile-wide chordal pads, haunting plucked strings and piercing dance leads. As usual, no one electronic genre is represented in DataBank Three – you’ll find the sounds inside can work great in a variety of contexts.

DataBank Three features

  • 100 Presets for NI Massive.
  • All presets utilitze all 8 Macro Knobs uniquely.
  • Each preset fully categorized.
  • Extensive notes and documentation inside most presets.
  • Compatible with both Macintosh and PC.
  • Requires Massive 1.3 or higher.

The DataBank Three soundset is available to purchase for $29 USD. Until May 24th, 2013 all DataBank Three purchases will include a 15-patch bonus unfinished ‘out-take’ set by Jeremy Janzen. These patches are completely unique from the full product, and are limited-edition – they will never be made available in any other way.

kiloHearts releases Disperser phase rotator plugin

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Apr 29, 2013 - comment 0 comments

kiloHearts has announced the release of Disperser, a phase rotator effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

kiloHearts Disperser

Disperser is a phase rotator that uses all-pass filters to add different delay to different frequencies. This makes for novel sounds and is of great value to any sound designer. Disperser can be used as a transient shaper, smearing the frequencies of sharp transients over time. It can also give a nice “flavor” to punchy basslines.

Another useful feature of the Disperser is that it can decrease the “crest factor” of a signal, meaning that it will lower the peaks but keep the perceived volume the same. In essence giving you more headroom for free.

The user interface is exceptionally easy to use with only three controls that gives the sound designer maximum control of the output. Not to mention it looks absolutely stunning.

Like all kiloHearts’ products, focus lies on ease of use while providing powerful functionality at a low price point. Disperser’s simple user interface puts all controls at the fingertips of the user, making it easy to quickly find the sound you want. “A lot of plugins these days try to compete with feature lists, often forgetting that they’re part of a creative process”, says Per Svanberg, developer and co-founder. “We want to isolate the most important parts, and make them as quickly and easily accessible as possible.”

Disperser for Windows and Mac (32/64-bit, VST/AU) is available to purchase for 15 EUR / $19 USD.

Variety Of Sound announces Thrillseeker VBL

Variety Of Sound has announced Thrillseeker VBL, an upcoming “Vintage Broadcast Limiter” effect plug-in.

Bringing mojo back – Thrillseeker VBL is a “Vintage Broadcast Limiter” emulation following the classic Variable-Mu design principles from the early days back in the 1950′s. Their purpose once were to prevent audio overshoots by managing the signals sudden changes w/o tone frequent modulations.

From a today’s perspective and especially compared to brickwall limiters, they are rather slow and more to be seen as a sort of gain structure leveler but still they are shining so much when it comes down to perform gain riding in a very musical fashion: They have warmth and mojo written all over it! Whether given vocals, bass or an entire track – they just deliver.

The release date of Thrillseeker VBL is TBA (expected May, 2013).

Sinevibes releases Inertia & Cluster AudioUnit plugins

Related: , , , , , , Posted in news on Apr 29, 2013 - comment 0 comments

Sinevibes has announced the release of the Inertia envelope sequencer and Cluster animated filter effect plug-ins for Mac. They replace the earlier Dynamo and Deep plugins, providing sleek new user interface graphics, plus multiple new features and enhancements.

Sinevibes Inertia

Inertia allows to add rhythmic motion to any instrument, slice, accent and shuffle drum loops, and bring life into static sounds.

Inertia runs a sequence of up to 32 envelopes, each with one of 8 different shapes. Thanks to adjustable speed, swing, time and lag, it takes no time to go from a simple tremolo pattern to really elaborate rhythmical modulation. Plus, you can store 8 separate sequences per each preset – for switching live or track automation.

Sinevibes Cluster

Cluster lets you apply intricate spectral transformations, re-engineer drum and percussion loops, and create colourful motion textures virtually out of anything.

This effect is smoothly cycling through a filter matrix with up to 32 steps, which includes low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and band-reject modes per each step. The filter slope is adjustable from soft -12 to extra-steep -48 dB/octave. Each sequencer step allows to select one of 8 envelope shapes for modulating the filter cutoff and resonance. Parameters such as speed, swing, time and lag are widely adjustable to precisely recreate the rhythmical feel you’re after. Just like with Inertia, eight separate sequences are stored in each preset.

Inertia and Cluster for Mac (AU) are available to purchase for $29 USD each.
