Limeflavour has released two new skins for Oatmeal, a virtual synthesizer instrument by Fuzzpilz.
Legacy skins for OatmealThe first skin is the Tron Legacy inspired skin built by Derek Halpenny, with small assistance from me.
The second skin is a lighter variant of the Tron skin, desaturated and brightened to suit my taste. This skin is all done by me.
Both skins (for Oatmeal r38-1) are available as a free download from the Limeflavour website.

Big Tick Audio has released version 1.2 of Zen, a universal presets manager for Windows and Mac.
It loads in any host as a vsti, and acts as a loader for other vstis. So with Zen, you can search for “Rhodes piano” and get a list of all matching presets – regardless of the final vsti (Rhino, Zebra, Absynth… whatever). When you select one of the presets in Zen, the corresponding vsti is automatically loaded to play the requested preset.
Changes in Zen v1.2
- Property to define the number of I/O channels.
- MIDI control over the next/previous preset buttons.
- Option to automatically open the plugin editor when selecting a preset.
- Support for Linplug MorphoX, Korg MS20, Korg PolySix, Korg Mono/Poly.
- Better re-synchronization with the server.
- Occasional infinite loop upon exit. Fixed.
- Crashes with Oatmeal. Fixed.
- UI issues with Orion and PreSonus Studio1. Fixed.
Zen for PC and Mac is available as a free download from the Big Tick Audio website.

Fuzzpilz has released version 38-1 of Oatmeal, a freeware virtual analog synth plug-in for Windows PC.
Changes in v38-1
- Oatmeal now has unison. At present this affects only the two oscillators; filters and noise remain singular (although the filters are duplicated if necessary for stereo output).
- Multiple instances running on separate cores/CPUs should no longer produce garbled output.
- Per-voice saturation does not as easily cause annoyingly audible note-off clicks.
- New filter types and some minor internal changes.
- The two filters can now be used in series as well as in parallel, and you can set the second filter’s type individually. (37-6c: fixed a bug with this)
- Sonar bug fixed.

Fuzzpilz has released version 37-6c of Oatmeal, a freeware virtual analog synth plug-in for Windows PC.
Changes in v37-6c
- presets saved with 2 filter types in parallel mode did not load correctly (the second filter would always show Clone).

Note: make sure you grab the updated Designer Monkey skins for Oatmeal here (for screenshots of these skins, check this post).
Fuzzpilz has released version 37-6b of Oatmeal, a freeware virtual analog synth plug-in for Windows PC.
Changes in v37-6b
- Fixed a bug involving all-notes-off messages that was causing some trouble for Sonar users.
- Filter changes. You can now use the two filters in series as well as in parallel, and you can set the second filter’s type separately.
Note: The default filter behaviour is for the second filter to use the same type as the first filter, so old patches will work just the same without adjustment. Old skins, unfortunately, will be missing the third switch state for the filter doubling switch (it’ll work, but they’ll just display the “on” frame for both parallel and serial modes), and of course won’t have the second filter type switch at all.

Fuzzpilz has released version 37-5b of Oatmeal, a freeware virtual analog synth plug-in for Windows PC.
Changes in v37-5b
- Multiple instances running on separate cores/CPUs should no longer produce garbled output.
- Per-voice saturation does not as easily cause annoyingly audible note-off clicks.
- A handful of useless new filter types and some minor internal changes.
Fuzzpilz writes:
No idea if the Sonar all-notes-off problem persists, as I was never able to reproduce it in the first place. I’d appreciate it if people got in touch (again), especially if it happens on other hosts also.
So be sure to contact Fuzzpilz if you’re experience all-notes-off problems (email address is the first link on his website).
