Bootsy announces epicVerb
Bootsy’s already announced epicVerb reverb VST plug-in which is currently in beta test will be available as freeware for PC this fall.
This brand new room reverberation simulator aims at both: Tight small rooms and ambiences well suited to modern drum and vocal productions up to large “epic” halls as known from high quality outboard gear. This reverbs sound ranges from rather concrete or even edgy up to smooth, transparent and artifact free reverb tails. It is designed for maximum flexibility and usability and to take place as a true high quality stereo main reverb.
The device features two different sounding reverb algorithms and 6 different stereo early reflection models. There are standard reverb controls like ‘time’, ‘diffuse’ or ’size’ as well as reverb tail modulation as an option.
It offers different reverb time handling for high and low frequencies as well as a musical sounding EQ section containing two “BootEQ” equalizers and additional high- and lowpass filtering.
Plug-in specification
- PC / VST compatible.
- SSE and Assembler optimized sound engine.
- State-of-the-art digital signal processing.
- Smooth reverb tail processing without any ringing or metallic sounding artifacts.
- Different reverb and early reflection models for maximum flexibility.
Check this audio teaser for a taste of what’s to come, and make sure to check Bootsy’s previously released plug-ins here if you haven’t done so yet.

Bootsy seems to have caught most the bugs and is now trying to refine the reverb engine before releasing it. No idea when it’ll be done, hopefully soon…

I’ve never waited for some plug to be released so much. Bootsy, you’re the man. And thanks for giving them all for free. As soon as I get some money, I’ll donate.

I’ve been keeping a close watch as well!
It would be great if music stores such as Guitar Center and Sam Ash, could help to support these guys by allowing special cd’s or dvd’s with their plugins and applications to be sold at their stores.
This would make it far easier for folks like me that don’t have paypal or any other methods of online payment, beyond cash. Plus, I’m not comfortable with online payment transaction’s. This is the only thing that prevents me from donating.
Maybe a special magazine could be sold with exclusive plugins similar to Computer Music, except it would be Guitar Center or Sam Ash’s.
They would benefit by including their own advertisements for gear and services.
