I have quite a few versions of CW Sonar & Creator versions, yet I practically never use them because of some really basic features that’s missing that every other DAW has- even the free ones. Even as the versions continue to climb- the missing features remain.

Missing features such as being able to merge record in a single clip- as when you’re loop recording a drum pattern for instance & add successive parts. Sonar & music creator stacks midi clips on top of each other instead of being merged into a single clip when loop recording. It’s a big ass hassle to have to manually merge these clips (called bounce to clips) as a single midi performance, which you’ll have to do if you plan to move the clip or you want to convert it to a groove clip.

This is a very, very old aspect of the program that has never till this day… been updated!!! Yet they keep creating all these spinoffs that carry these legacy features. Another irritation is when you bounce your audio… it bounces dead space as well, so if you like to start your sequence at measure 2 or 3… you get that dead space in your bounced clip. Sonar doesn’t have a feature where you can choose just a portion of the sequence to bounce or only bounce the loop marker range…REALLY!!!

I won’t be updating to any new versions until they get rid of this legacy nonsense!

    rant over….
