Fingerpushers has released Butch Techno Percussion, a collection of synthetic percussion sounds for Fxpansion Geist.

Butch Techno Percussion is a collection of five kits for Fxpansion Geist, containing 80 highly processed percussion sounds. Butch Techno Percussion also contains almost 400 percussive samples in WAV-format.

The original material for this collection came from TR-909 drum machine. The drum samples were loaded into a E-mu E4XT Ultra hardware sampler for some serious time stretching processing. The samples were stretched back and forward until they sounded like a nasty hard drive crash from the future.

A big portion of the sounds were processed and shaped with Fxpansion Geist and re-composed into percussive sounds. Another portion of the sounds were mangled in the Ohmforce Symptohm granular sampler.

Lastly, the most interesting sounds were selected to be compiled and processed one last time in Fxpansion Geist.

Butch Techno Percussion features

  • 394 percussion samples.
  • All samples are in 44.1 kHz, 16 bit WAV format (with short file names so they work with Akai MPC).
  • There are five kits for Fxpansion Geist with 80 additional sounds.

The sound library is available to purchase for 9.90 EUR.
