Flintpope has announced the release of a free soundset featuring 24 sounds for the Photone synthesizer in Native Instruments Reaktor.

REAKTOR 6 is a focal point for creative musicians and techies who just love to add to the vast range of synths, samplers, drum orchestras and generative drone machines that function within its shell.

One such musician is Rupert Parkes aka Photek, celebrated UK D&B producer now big in LA. He’s had an input into software synth PHOTONE and may even have named it… Like NI’s MASSIVE, this instrument is capable of grinding low frequencies and brilliant highs. With 4 oscillators, 2 LFOs and 2 filter-banks, it is a versatile sound designer that can also produce lush pads and, like any synthesiser worth its salt, haunted atmospherics.

Dipping into its creative depths was fun and I’ve written a free set of 24 sounds that investigate its strengths. I think this synth could take on its big brother any day!

The soundset is a free download for Reaktor.
