FXpansion Geist

FXpansion has released version 1.0.3.7 of Geist, the next-generation sampling drum machine for Windows and Mac.

Geist is a fast, intuitive software drum machine designed to create evolved beats and grooves, freeing you from the limits of pre-packaged loops and over-complicated DAWs. Geist fuses creative sample-sculpting tools with fast pattern step-sequencing and arrangement. Browse through sounds with lightning speed, slice and assign loops to pads with a single click; sample, resample and build beats in a slick unified environment. Geist makes fiddly tasks with multiple apps a thing of the past.

Changes in Geist v1.0.3.7

  • 64-bit support for MacOSX and Windows. When running a 64-bit host on a 64-bit operating system, Geist now appears as a native plugin so it is no longer necessary to use bit-bridges in such systems.
  • Guru import improved – envelopes and tuning settings should be a lot closer now.
  • Multiple spitters in a project should work correctly now.
  • Dragging patterns out as midi should now give accurate results in so far as the graphs to CC’s behaviour.
  • Reverse and looping/gated modes now functioning correctly – with or without timestretch.

Geist is available to purchase for £157 GBP / 189 EUR / $249 USD. A crossgrade offer is available for registered GURU customers: £79 GBP / 95 EUR / $125 USD. Prices excl. VAT where applicable.

Geist is really great. The 16 pads with 8 layers and 8 engines is extremely flexible. I am finding that it is almost a direct replacement for Logic Studio! It is very easy to make Drum-Loops and beats on the fly
