Sonic Bloom has announced the release of House Operator Vol. 1, a soundset by Max for Cats, featuring a collection of presets for the Operator FM synthesizer in Ableton Live.

Since its origins in the early 80s, a strong characteristic of the first and second wave of house music is the use of FM synthesizers – such as the Yamaha DX100, the TX81z and, of course, the DX7 which started it all. Released in 1983, the DX7 was a landmark in music technology and was immediately in use in any solid Dance and Pop music production.

The House Operator Live Pack is a reminiscence to the sound of 80-90s House music and contains many carefully created Operator presets to deliver the vibe of those days. FM-synthesis nowadays is a widely used and well established synthesis method.

House Operator Vol. 1 offers more than 80 carefully crafted presets, some as racks with macro controls. Cutting leads, fat bass sounds, characteristic house chords and pads are at your fingertips for immediate use in your own productions. Many presets are deliberately created without added effects, so you can decide which delay, reverb or similar might fit your sound or track best.

The soundset is available for purchase for 20 EUR / $25 USD. Requires Ableton Live 9.5 with Operator. A free version is available for download.
