Dangerous Music has launched a new video in which mixing engineer Pablo Araya of Audio Piranha shares his thoughts on choosing the right studio monitor controller.

Mixing engineer Pablo Araya reveals why selecting the right monitor controller will make or break a mix. Speaking from his ‘Audio Piranha’ recording studio, he shares three main issues to consider: signal path quality, flexibility with expandability, and build quality. Pablo chose the Dangerous Music MONITOR-ST because it satisfies all of his audio mixing criteria —including stereo and 5.1 surround mixing applications.

“With an extremely clean signal path I can monitor at both very low levels and very high levels and hear the exact same thing while I’m mixing. Having a stepped attenuator—the volume knob—allows me to set the levels exactly the same every time,” says Pablo.
