Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Resonance: Emotional Mallets, its newest sample library designed for film, TV and game composers.

This is a collection of custom-made and found instruments constructed from metal, glass, wood and stone, played with mallets, fingers, hands, bows and sampled in great depth. Instruments include a glass marimba, a ‘metal ensemble’ of percussive instruments, bowed stones, a glass gong, chromatic pot lids, and many more, comprising 33 total patches for Kontakt 4.

In addition to these natural instruments and patches, we’ve also created a wealth of “Designed” patches in such categories as Impacts & FX, Tonal Pads and Textures & Ambience. These 49 patches take the original recorded audio in a totally new direction using both internal Kontakt and external processing. From deep metal strikes to warm bell keys, swelling pads and alien textures, these sounds are sure to be useful in many compositions.

The library was recorded mostly dry with a slight amount of room air, making the sounds very flexible and well-suited for the included convolution reverb, or external reverb/processing. Every patch includes a variety of round robins and velocity layers, plus a custom scripted interface that gives the user quick access to important sound sculpting controls: treble/bass, attack/damping, transposition, reverb and spatial width.

Resonance: Emotional Mallets is available to purchase as an instant download for the introductory price of $79 USD (regular $99 USD).
