Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Following the success of our Shreddage and Shreddage X guitar libraries, we’ve received countless requests for a rock & metal bass library. Rather than settle for a simple instrument limited in genre, we decided to go further and create a deep-sampled, versatile bass sample library with intuitive mapping and easy-to-mix tone. Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition is the culmination of our efforts and the suggestions of our customers.

The DI tone of this library is thick and full, but sits well in any mix. The built-in scripted interface has a three-band EQ customized for sweet spots, allowing the user to customize the tone further combined with the built-in compression, amp and limiter. These features enable Shreddage Bass: PE to be used for not just rock & metal, but dance, pop, jazz, funk, disco and everything in between. We covered all the vital articulations in our usual depth: open notes, mutes, staccatos, hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides were recorded with up to 8x round robins (up and down strokes) plus three dynamic layers.

Despite having over 2,000 samples and a wealth of possible playing styles, Shreddage Bass: PE is easy to use with a left hand/right hand mapping style that does not require keyswitches, MIDI CCs or pedal control. Plus, the scripting engine, which supports things like customizable legato, anti-repetition, automatic octaves and a downstrokes-only mode, is not CPU-intensive making this instrument light on resources but not on tone!

Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition for Kontakt 4+ is available to purchase for $59 USD. Through December 2011, existing Shreddage users can crossgrade for $39 USD.

New users can purchase the library as part of a bundle that includes both original Shreddage libraries plus our Acoustic Revolutions volume 1 acoustic guitar collection for $99 USD until December 31, 2011.
