Jünger Audio has announced that in a partnership collaboration with Flux, its renowned loudness management algorithm is to be released as Level Magic, a software tool supporting all major DAW platforms (AU/VST/AAX/AS) for both Real Time and Offline (AudioSuite) processing in 32 & 64 bits under both Windows and Mac OS X.
As a result of a joint engineering venture, Jünger Audio and Flux are pleased to announce Level Magic for the first time in a software format. Developed and enhanced over several years, Level Magic is a comprehensive loudness measurement, correction and management algorithm designed to ensure compliance with all current worldwide loudness standards.
Based on the underlying ITU--R BS.1770(--1/2/3) principle, Level Magic provides compatibility with EBU R128, ATSC A/85, ARIB TR--B32, FREE TV OP--59 and Portaria 354.
Designed to be audibly transparent, Level Magic utilises a proprietary multi--loop approach comprising of three essential elements in parallel to measure, and if necessary correct, out of specification audio. An AGC section controls slower changing levels over time whilst a fast acting transient processor catches inaudible high frequency overshoots that may otherwise cause detrimental effects in downstream processing or coding.
A brickwall filter provides effective True Peak limiting using a 2ms look--ahead to capture any intersample peaks. The resultant gain changing signal is a combination of all three elements.
The Level Magic algorithm is highly adaptive to the structure of the incoming audio and requires only a small number of parameters to be set by the user. The result is audio compliant with the selected standard but free of any unwanted artefacts such as pumping, breathing or distortion.
All major DAW platforms are supported (AU/VST/AAX/AS) for both Real Time and Offline (AudioSuite) processing in 32 & 64 bits under both Windows and Mac OS X. Supported audio I/O formats include Mono, Stereo and Multichannel 5.1.
Peter Pörs, Jünger Audio Managing Director said, “We are delighted to have worked with Flux on this exciting new development. As the industry continues to demand and adopt software based solutions, we are proud to now be able to offer all the proven and tested benefits of Level Magic to those working in the Digital Audio Workstation environment”. He added, “This software tool is the perfect complement to our line up of hardware based real--time processors and will position us well for further expansion into the audio production workflow market.”
Speaking on behalf of Flux, CEO Gael Martinet commented, “With the combined experience of Flux:: and Jünger, we believe this collaboration to be a perfect match between two companies from two different parts of the industry, united by a passion for extraordinary audio products. Level Magic is a great addition to our current product range, meeting the growing demand for comprehensive loudness correction processors on the audio software market.”
Level Magic will be available in Q1 2015.
