Soniccouture has announced the release of Xbow Guitars, a Kontakt Player library featuring a unique, organic collection of virtual instruments.
With Xbow Guitars, Soniccouture continues to experiment with unconventional ways of generating sound from guitars, using an Ebow, a horse hair cello bow, the Gizmotron mechanical bowing device by Godley & Creme, and a vibrator.
Over the last few years, experiments with bowing techniques have resulted in a huge range of new timbres and textures from guitars.
So we’ve taken the original ebow recordings and built a completely new set of instruments around them, adding over 12GB of new samples in the process: Cello bows, vibrators & Gizmotron all feature in the set of four new instruments for Kontakt Player & NKS Kontrol.
