Soundsnap is a a free online sound library and community for sound designers and producers. The collection of original sounds found on Soundsnap is made or recorded by its users.

Soundsnap features

• It has 30.000 sounds contributed by different sound and music people from all over the world
• It has a friendly interface that makes it really fast and easy to find what you are looking for
• Contributors include: Mike Dred (Rephlex records), SI BEGG (Ninjatune, Mute), Monster X ( Peace off records ) , Justine Angus (Batman Begins, Happy Feet), Stuart Duffield (Game Sound for Konami, Acclaim, Fox Sound Studios)

The navigation is pretty easy indeed, allowing you to browse categories, keywords (tag cloud), and there’s an advanced search option.

Sounds can be previewed directly from the site, and downloads are availble in mp3, wav and aiff formats (depending on individual sample). To upload you’ll need to create a membership account, which is free.
