Spectrasonics has announced it is now shipping Trilian, a virtual bass instrument for PC and Mac.

Trilian’s massive 34GB core library featuring highly-detailed new Acoustic, Electric and Synth basses – as well as enhanced versions of the classic Trilogy sounds. With a brand new user interface and numerous software innovations, Trilian is the first 64-bit native software based on Spectrasonics next generation STEAM Engine, and is the first virtual instrument to feature full library integration with the flagship Omnisphere synthesizer.

Trilian for PC and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) is now shipping with an MSRP of $299 USD / €229 EUR. All Trilogy customers can upgrade to Trilian for $99 USD. There is also a special FREE upgrade offer for Trilogy customers on the Intel-Mac platform and for customers who purchase Trilogy in 2009.     So far the procedure seems to have worked quite smoothly. Since I had not created a ‘user account’ I did so and then entered in my serial numbers. When I went to the tech shop it immediately recognized me for receiving the free update (Trilogy Intel user) and took me through the ‘check out’. In my case total was $6.95 for UPS ground.

    Gotta love Spectrasonics for both innovative products and a generous response to the difficult situation they got caught in with PPC to Intel changeover and their former third party engine’s incompatibility. Thanks Eric and company, can’t wait to get my delivery!
