4Front Technologies updates W1 Limiter to v2.0 Beta

4Front Technologies has announced version 2.0 beta of the George Yohng’s W1 Limiter, a free limiter effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

4Front W1 Limiter

W1 Limiter is a clone of Waves L1, with identical output, as well as an approximation of Waves L2.

Currently W1 Limiter 2.0 is in beta. The final version will introduce limiting meters and a graph. Please also note, the OS X version is not backwards compatible, while Windows version is backwards compatible. However on both systems projects saved with W1 v2.0 will not load with the previous obsolete version.

Changes in W1 Limiter v2.0 beta

  • Added graphical interface.
  • L2 adaptive release approximation.
  • Full Mac OS X AudioUnit and VST support, 32 and 64-bit.
  • Windows VST2 and VST3 support.
  • RTAS support.

The W1 Limiter beta is available to download free of charge.
