Abbey Road Plug-ins TG12412 Tone

Abbey Road Plug-ins has released the TG Mastering Pack, authentic emulations of the Tone Control and Presence/Filter EQ modules from the TG12410 transfer console, which has been the centrepiece of Abbey Road’s mastering rooms since the early 1970s.

The TG12410’s Tone Control and Filter modules have become secret weapons of Abbey Road’s mastering engineers and these were studied and modelled to create the TG Mastering Pack. The plug-ins bring the smooth, musical sound of the original TG hardware to users of computer-based audio workstations.

The TG12412 is a four-band, semi-parametric EQ with selectable frequencies and curve shapes on each band. The Shape control provides the shelving and variable bell curves from the original module. The TG12414 provides a presence section and low- and high-pass filters. The presence section is the same as the presence EQ on the legendary TG12345 mixing console.

TG Mastering Pack key features

  • Four band semi-parametric EQ.
  • Selectable curve shapes on each band.
  • Presence band and variable low- and high-pass filters.
  • Exact replication of original TG controls.
  • Automation and control surface support.
  • Available in TDM, RTAS, AU and VST versions.

The TG Mastering Pack for LE/AU/VST is priced at $335 USD and is compatible with Mac and Windows (TDM version also available, priced at $560 USD). A 10-day demo version is available for download.

The AU/VST versions are compatible with the existing LE license, so customers who already own the RTAS license can simply download and install the new AU/VST software.

Abbey Road Plug-ins updates Brilliance Pack to v1.0.6

Abbey Road Plug-ins Brilliance Pack

Abbey Road Plug-ins has released version 1.0.6 of the Brilliance Pack, a collection of authentic emulations of vintage EMI RS127 and RS135 presence EQs.

The plug-ins were developed from original EMI circuit schematics, circuit simulation and digital modelling of vintage Abbey Road units, and retain the operation and characteristics of the original hardware.

Changes in Brilliance Pack v1.0.6

  • Mouse clicks being ‘stolen’ from the host application. This issue affected all Mac formats (TDM/RTAS/AU/VST) and could cause host applications to respond sluggishly when mouse clicks were stolen from them by the plug-in windows.
  • Crashing in Peak Pro with AU & VST versions.
