Acousticsamples GD-6

Acousticsamples has released GD-6, an acoustic guitar sample library for the UVI Workstation, based on the Guild D-40 custom edition electro-acoustic guitar.

We recorded it with a pair of microphones and using the build in pickup. We sampled it very deeply, all frets of all strings with upstrokes, downstrokes, round robins, releases, staccatos, mutes, palm mutes, hand blocks, slides, hammer ons, pull offs, retriggers, fretnoises, percussions other articulations. All of these details allow us to reproduce the real playing of a guitar player, and easily.

There are basically 4 modes, the solo mode that allows to play melodies, the chord mode that helps playing strums or picking very easily, the patterns mode that does all of the strumming or picking for you and the MIDI mode that allows you to use your preferred midi guitar controller.

GD-6 Acoustic Guitar features

  • 4.43Gb, 7000 samples.
  • Strumming engine (features chord recognition and a smart strumming technique to produce guitar-like chords) and complete control of all its parameters.
  • 62 realistic patterns for easy strumming, picking and advanced playing styles.
  • Integrated song builder to create songs within minutes and very easily
  • Legato script to play natural hammer ons, pull offs and slides.
  • Natural hand placement simulation.
  • 39 different samples per fret and all 21 fret sampled for each string.
  • Multi velocity Hammer on, pull off, slides up, slides down, mutes, ghost notes, pre notes.
  • Included sparkVerb©.
  • Control over the microphones and pickup volumes.
  • Advanced bend control.
  • Advanced UVI scripting giving you access to a simple yet powerfull interface and advanced features.
  • and more…

The sound library is available to purchase for $149 USD. Requires UVI Workstation 2 (free) or MOTU MachFive 3.

Acousticsamples Petit Piano

Acousticsamples has introduced the Petit Piano 50 keys children’s piano sound library for UVI Workstation and MachFive.

This piano is manufactured by a french piano manufacturer called “Klein” and this is the only “Childrens” piano of this size. It features a real wooden keyboard and a 2 string system which makes it sound close to a full sized upright piano and not like a toy.

It is a small piano, but we still wanted to make it as realistic as possible, so we added our top piano features like sympathetic resonances, true pedal action, or really accurate release samples to get great sounding staccatos. We recorded 6 velocity layers as well as key noises, resonances, release samples, pedal noises, etc… and you can control every bit of it using the interface.

Petit Piano features

  • 1.29GB, 859 samples.
  • 6 Velocity layers for the sustain.
  • 6 Velocities for the release.
  • Pedal and key noises.
  • Pedal down resonances.
  • Sympathetic resonances.
  • True pedal action.
  • Access to impulse response list.
  • Tone control.
  • Advanced UVI scripting giving you access to a simple yet powerfull interface and advanced features.

The sound library costs 49 EUR / $60 USD.

Gospel Musicians announces Acousticsamples Acoustic Pianos for Yamaha Motif XS/XF

Acousticsamples Piano Collection

Gospel Musicians has partnered with Acousticsamples to release five new acoustic pianos for Yamaha Motif XS/XF synthesizer workstations.

We all love the advent of computer music and the idea of taking a laptop to a gig with you, but there is still something to be said for hardware. Imagine having the reliability of hardware, at the same time, having the same detail, precision, and clarity of a plugin.

AcousticsampleS, in partnership with Gospel Musicians are now bringing the most realistic, organic, and playable grand piano sounds ever created for the Yamaha Motif XS and XF keyboards. With no loops and natural sustain, all 5 pianos have a distinct sound and character that will make you fee like you are playing a real acoustic piano.

Acoustic Pianos for Yamaha Motif XS/XF

  • 5 acoustic pianos by Acousticsamples
    • B-Piano Upright, an old, out of tune, mechanically imperfect but still usable upright piano.
    • A-Piano Grand piano,an old French Gaveau piano. Gaveau was a French piano manufacturer. The company was established in 1847 in Paris and used to be one of the three largest piano makers in France (after Érard and Pleyel). This particular piano was build in 1960 and is refereed to as a “crapaud” (“Petite Grand” in English), which means that it’s a little smaller than a “quart de queue” (baby grand). It has a very particular sound, very bright and full of “inharmonicity” in the bass due to the short length of the strings.
    • Kawai-EX Pro sample Library, a powerful and bright 9-foot (276cm) Kawai EX concert grand piano that used to be in the Kennedy center in Washington DC.
    • Academic Grand, a 1963 Steinway D concert grand which has seen countless recitals and concerts over the years where it served as the University of Arkansas’ primary concert instrument.
    • Old Black Grand, an old Pleyel Grand Piano (F-71240 model from 1928) with vintage gear like a Studer console and tube microphones, it has the rich and warm sound of the old jazz/blues or even classical music recordings.
  • 3-Velocity layers per piano.
  • Full sustain notes (no looping).
  • Release Notes.
  • Separate volume assignments for release and sustain sounds.
  • Fits on 512MB RAM or Flash.
  • 44kHz/16-bit Stereo Samples.

The libraries are available to purchase for the introductory price of $49.99 USD each (regular $99.99 USD), or in a bundle of all five for $199.99 USD (regular $299.99 USD) until November 5th, 2012.

Acousticsamples releases Wurlie – Wurlitzer Student Electronic Piano sound library

Acousticsamples has released Wurlie, a sampled 64 keys Wurlitzer 206A piano.

The 206A is a student model, and is very similar to a 200A except for its beige color and built in amp/speaker (it also did not come with a tremolo). It was designed to be paired with a 206, which is the teacher model and they were mainly used in conservatories. The teacher had a headphone and microphone to be able to listen to each student individually and talk to them without others hearing them.

We recorded it both from the direct output using a state of the art DI (Universal Audio Solo 610) and also using a pair of microphones right above the keys next to where the head of a player would be. We also included our common features like the multiple releases along with our sympathetic resonance system (both pedal up and down). You also have access to various commonly used effects and a full control over the midi parameters to make it fit to your keyboards response.

Demonstration of Wurlie for UVI Workstation 2 and MOTU MachFive 3

Wurlie features

  • 1.21Gb, 3123 samples.
  • 10 Velocity layers for the sustain.
  • 20 Velocities for the release.
  • Time based release samples for accurate staccato sound.
  • Sustain pedal noises (up and down), triggered automatically.
  • Independant mix of the acoustic/electric sound.
  • Sympathetic resonance on both pedal up and down.
  • Complete control over the midi response.
  • EQ.
  • Vibrato simulation.
  • Saturation, chorus and flanger effects.
  • Amp simulation of the real cabinet.
  • Spring Reverb.
  • Advanced UVI scripting giving you access to a simple yet powerful interface and advanced features.

Wurlie is powered by UVI Workstation 2 (Windows/Mac), and now available to purchase for 80 EUR.
