Analogue Drums releases Big Mono Redux

Analogue Drums Big Mono Redux

Analogue Drums has announced Big Mono Redux, a drum sample library.

After numerous requests from users of Big Mono, we revisited the original recording session from 2003!

We’ve come up with a new drum library with the same sweet sound as the original Big Mono, but now with loads of options for sonic control.

Round-robins, controllable mic layers, adjustable sensitivity and even panning controls are provided to fit the kit into your track. With the same heritage as the original Big Mono, it’s a vintage Ludwig kit, tracked through killer mics and a ’70s Neve directly to 2″ tape.

Overview of features and presets of Analogue Drums Big Mono Redux for NI Kontakt.

Big Mono Redux features

  • 4 Kontakt instrument files for stereo/multi-out, Keyboard & V-Drum mappings.
  • 1,234 sample sound files in unencrypted 24bit, 44.1khz WAV format (814MB unzipped).

Analogue Drums Monotown

Inspired by the drums of Motown, Stax and sweet R’n’B from yesteryear comes Monotown. It will drive home the beat to old school funk, soul, rhythm and blues. It’ll also fit the bill for current indy and pop where organic production qualities are desired.

Monotown features

  • Multi-sampling: each key contains up to 8 velocity layers for expressive detail and dynamics. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 9 articulations (tip, tight, closed, loose, looser, semi-open, open, pedaled, footsplash).
  • Mic layers: 5x individually controllable microphone perspectives: Coles 4038 front-of-kit; Coles 4038 over kit; RCA 44 over kit, RE20 underside, and Neumann U67 room.
  • Round-robin: natural performance is possible thanks to 6 round-robin hits for each dynamic layer on every instrument.
  • Layouts: Keyboard and eKit/V-Drum mapping layouts provided. The keyboard layout is General MIDI (GM) compatible.

Complete with concert toms and Sabian cymbals, this kit will lay down a solid and distinctive foundation for any track.

Analogue Drums releases Buckshot sample library

Analogue Drums Buckshot

Analogue Drums has released Buckshot, a drumkit sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt and EXS24.

The Buck stops here. A modern take on a vintage kit with plenty of punch to cut through and enough tone to sit right in a rock track.

The kit is a vintage 1970s Gretsch Stop-Sign Maple with Zildjian and Sabian cymbals. The kit was tracked in a big old wooden theatre and dialing in the room sound can go from tight to espansive. As usual we’ve used nothing but the finest gear to capture the kit including classic Neumann mics, vintage Neve 1064 preamps. The tracks were then processed through vintage DBX 160 “VU” compressors for added grit and girth.

Buckshot features

  • Multi-sampling: each key contains 24 velocity layers for expressive detail. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 6 articulations (tight, closed, loose, semi-open, open, pedaled).
  • Mic layers: 3x separately controllable layers for close mics, overheads and room mics.
  • Layouts: General MIDI (GM) and Extended Mapping (EX) layouts provided.
  • Kontakt instrument interface*: with volume and pan controls for individual drums and room mics. Instant snare-swapping button.
  • Sensitivity control*: increase the sensitivity of the kit for more subtle performances or leave it set to full dynamic range for rock and heavier tracks.
  • Presets*: for quickly changing sounds.

Buckshot is available to purchase for $24.95 USD.

Analogue Drums releases Grandioso for Kontakt and EXS24

Analogue Drums Grandioso

Analogue Drums has released Grandioso, a drum sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt and Logic EXS24.

Grandioso is about as big as it gets. Turn up the room mic, hit it hard and it will deliver explosive beats with resounding impact. Or back off the room mic and use more moderate dynamics for smooth, subtle and detailed grooves.

The kit is a vintage 1970s Ludwig Vistalite with the toms tuned low for growl, the kick unported for added weight, and two vintage Ludwig Supraphonic snares in medium and high tunings. Accompanied with classic Paiste 2002 cymbals.

Grandioso features

  • Multi-sampling: each key contains 24 velocity layers for expressive detail. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 6 articulations (tight, closed, loose, semi-open, open, pedaled).
  • Layers: separately controllable layers for close and room mics.

Grandioso is available to purchase for $24.95 USD.

Analogue Drums releases Splitsticks

Analogue Drums Splitsticks

Analogue Drums has released Splitsticks, a drum sample library featuring a Slingerland drumkit.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but Splitsticks won’t. Played with HotRod™ sticks, it’s the same tasty Slingerland 4-piece ’60s kit that we used for Popsticks, but with a more laid-back sound – somewhere between the sound of brushes and regular sticks.

Reduced velocity sampling means it uses less system resources than Popsticks. Close mic and room mic options give plenty of scope for mixing things up. Tracked through a ’74 Neve desk, and as always onto a nice thick roll of tape.

Splitsticks features

  • Slingerland 4-piece ’60s kit, recorded through a 1974 EMI Neve desk at York St Studio. Recorded in stereo, directly to tape. Converted using Apogee Rosetta converters.
  • 308 discrete wav samples, quick-reference card (PDF), sampler mapping files.
  • Sample format: 24bit, 44.1khz, Stereo, Wav format.
  • Compatability: Native Instruments Battery 3, Native Instruments Kontakt 2 & 3 and EXS24 / Logic.

Splitsticks is available for purchase for $14.95 USD.
