Twisted Tools has announced version 1.5 of S-LAYER, the sample layering sound creation tool for Native Instruments Reaktor.

The new update allows users to control S-LAYER from their iPad using high resolution OSC, Liine’s Lemur app and a brand new custom template by Lemur expert Antonio Blanca.

S-LAYER is a sample layering sound creation tool that allows you to create, edit and play new sound combinations by taking samples and layering them together using an eight part sampler and an intuitive cell layout.

Glitchmachines has announced the release of Fragment, the first installment in a new Macropack sample pack series.

Macropacks are affordable sample packs that feature collaborations with cutting edge software developers and sound designers. Fragment features 300 sound effects by Ivo Ivanov, an exclusive plugin from Inear Display and a custom Lemur template from Antonio Blanca.

The lo-fi character of this sample pack is suitable for projects in need of aggressive, provocative, and mind-bending material. Sourced from a private collection of circuit bent hardware, these samples were skillfully layered and processed to offer a fresh perspective on the sonic range typically associated with bent sounds.

Fragment comes with an artifact buffer effect plugin for Windows and Mac.

Inear Display’s Fragment plugin is a collaborative effort between Thomas Hennebert, Ivo Ivanov, and Antonio Blanca.

It features a granulizer/stutter effect, a multimode filter, and an LFO, and is designed to achieve a wide range of sonic artifacts. Fragment includes a custom Lemur template for iPad, crafted by sound designer and Lemur expert Antonio Blanca, giving you multi-touch control over every parameter.

Patchpool has announced the release of No Boundaries, a soundset for the free DRON-E Reaktor ensemble by Antonio Blanca.

No Boundaries contains a wide variety of soundscapes, drones, one-finger-pads, vocal sounds, soprano sax sounds, textures made from percussion samples like gongs, bells, Glockenspiel and framedrum (Bodran), acoustic guitar sounds (plucked and bowed), Okarina textures (clay flute), processed field-recordings and some otherworldly, more experimental stuff.

Most of the 103 samples (48 Khz / 24 Bit / stereo) were produced exclusively for this set, some were borrowed from the vast pool of patchpool samples. All acoustic instruments were recorded with 3 high quality Neumann mics through a RME FF 800 using my regular L-C-R setup.

The download contains the Sample Map and the Snapshot Bank. The Sample Map can also be used in any other Reaktor ensemble that supports sample players and granulators. The samples can also be downloaded in a folder with single wav files so that they can be used in other samplers and granulators or directly inside a DAW without having to extract the samples from the Reaktor Sample Map.

Patchpool has announced No Boundaries, a soundset for the DRON-E Reaktor ensemble by Antonio Blanca.

This set will contain a wide variety of soundscapes, drones, one-finger-pads, vocal sounds, textures made from percussion samples like gongs, bells and skindrum, processed field-recordings and some otherworldly, more experimental stuff.

Most of the samples will be produced exclusively for this set, some are borrowed from the vast pool of patchpool samples.

No Boundaries features

Antonio Blanca has introduced Dron-e, a free drone ensemble for Native Instruments Reaktor.

Dron-e is a Reaktor Instrument specialised in creating ambient, generative, abstract and cinematic soundscapes and drones. Dron-e contains flexible parameters and controls for creating everything from delicate atmospheres to complex walls of sound.

Included is a custom created sound bank of acoustic and synthetic instrument and field recordings designed specially for Dron-e, but you can load your own and venture into unknown sonic territories.

In addition to the pre-established modulators and controls, it’s possible to use your own modulators built in Reaktor such as sequencers or break-point envelopes using the EXT option, as well as MIDI/OSC signals to further shape your sounds.

S-LAYER is a sound creation tool that allows you to create, edit and play new sound combinations by taking samples and layering them together using an eight part sampler and an intuitive cell layout. By combining sounds from the included sample map or your existing sample library, S-LAYER facilitates the discovery of new oneshots, sound effects and loops using pre-existing sample content. Whether you’re looking for a new way to create thick drum samples for hip-hop or a massive impact sound effect for game, S-LAYER delivers.

With S-LAYER, up to eight parts are played back and manipulated simultaneously using an advanced layered sampler engine, where each layer remains independent and can be surgically edited. Time-tested sound design techniques such as reversing, pitching, modulating and mixing sounds together can be quickly achieved by randomizing and fine-tuning with sliders and knobs. In addition to the on-board granular, filter and time-based effects, you can also connect your own effects using the insert/send system or by using the direct outputs. Once you’ve found a sound combination that you like, you can store it on-the-fly in one of eight ‘Scenes’ which can be dynamically played backed and controlled using MIDI.
