VB-Audio has announced the release of Hi-Fi Cable & ASIO Bridge, a virtual audio device made to manage high resolution audio streams.
Audio Applications using regular audio devices can now use ASIO Devices through the Hi-Fi Virtual Audio Cable and ASIO Bridge.
Like the VB-Cable, HiFi Cable is a virtual audio driver (MME, DX, WDM, KS, WASAPI) working as a “Virtual Audio Cable” to connect audio applications together. All incoming signals to the Cable input (Playback Device) go out to the Cable Output (Recording Device). But the HiFi Cable also works with the ASIO Bridge, allowing to route these virtual i/o into an ASIO Device.
Then ASIO Bridge enables every audio application, video game or whatever player, to take advantage of the ASIO device through their native Windows audio interface. It includes the possibility to read DVD with a Windows Player and spread the 6 or 8 outputs on your preferred professional audio device usually driven by ASIO Interface.
HiFi cable supports all sample rate from 8 kHz to 384 kHz, 16 or 24-bits resolution (bit perfect) and up to 8 channels.
The Hi-Fi Cable & ASIO Bridge for Windows is available as donationware.
John Shield has released version 1.2 of WDM ASIO Link Driver, which now offers multichannel sound support.
Utilising a virtual WDM sound card, this driver allows you to listen or record windows audio from your ASIO driver or host program. You can make the windows audio appear as an input into the host application, or monitor windows audio as an ASIO output bypassing the host application.
Run your DAW in ASIO mode and still listen to windows audio. It’s also possible using the Link driver, to grab your total ASIO output and feed it back into the ASIOVAD stereo mix making it recordable by live windows streaming applications (i.e. live broadcast, voice chat programs).
Changes in WDM ASIO Link Driver v1.2
Can now route all 8 channels into host ASIO inputs (was previously limited by the number of real ASIO device inputs).
Substantial improvements to timing code making sound more robust under heavy CPU or when running on slower machines.
GUI improvements and more info displayed.
Auto check for updates (free updates too).
The WDM ASIO Link Driver for Windows is available to purchase for $14.95 USD.

eaReckon has updated its BloXpander host software to version 1.4.0.
This VST host has been designed to meet the requirements of musicians and sound engineers in live situations.
As a serious musician, you surely need a complete DAW to record your music, but when you are in front of your audience, it may be easier to use something dedicated to live situations. And during live situations, the access to your instruments and effects must be fast and intuitive. The adjustment of these must be done efficiently, and the necessary software sub layers running on your computer should not be your concern when it comes to play or produce music.
Changes in BloXpander v1.4.0
64-bit support: both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of BloXpander can be installed concurrently on a same computer (they do not share the same data folder).
Direct support of jBridge (if available). Please note that BloXpander does not currently feature its own 32-64 bit wrapper. jBridge is a third party tool which is not delivered with BloXpander.
“Smooth Mixer”: all controls of the mixer have been smoothed. BloXpander will do its best to avoid pops/clicks and artifacts on a modification of the console state. For example, when an insert is muted, the plug-in it contains is suspended after a short fade out, etc.
The main controller in MC Protocol mode now handles transport related messages and optionally sends time code and metering information to compatible external MIDI controllers.
Improved compatibility with various third party plug-ins.
Alternative “Hysteria meter” that gives more information about latency and ASIO performances.
Better handling of ‘hot’ sample rate changes.
BloXpander is now resizable as any classic windowed application (the ‘maximize’ button can be used to switch to full screen mode). It is also possible to hide Aux Returns to get more visible Channels on smaller screens.
Faster loading of samples in the context of a widely used sampler plug-in.
New ‘Info’ box (‘?’ button on BloXpander’s system panel).
… and a lot more things! (replacement of missing plug-ins, improved handling of hot keys, improved MIDI engine, expert options, per plug-in options, unified operation of library and scene slots, less “paranoid” BloXcanner, etc., etc.)… … almost 50% of the code has been changed, actually.
Fixes a bug related to the MIDI tempo tap setting (was not correctly saved in some situations).
Measuring a mere 7cm in length, the UDJ6 is the perfect solution for DJs on the road.
This professional level 24-bit USB audio interface features six totally independent output channels – two with 1/4″ TRS headphone output and four with RCA connectors.
Of course, every output channel can be accessed totally independently from within any modern DJ application for Mac OS X or for Windows. This compatibility is provided by the included ASIO 2.0 drivers for Windows XP / Vista / 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and the full CoreAudio support for Mac OS X.
Simply use your favourite DJ software and mix your tracks the way you like it!
UDJ6 comes bundled with a license of Deckadance LE from Image Line Software, a powerful DJ software that was written by DJs for DJs – simply start DJing with the separate output channels of UDJ6!
