Audio Damage Rough Rider
Audio Damage Rough Rider compressor effect

Rough Rider is a modern compressor with a bit of “vintage” style bite and a uniquely warm sound. Perfect for adding compression effects to your drum buss, it also sounds great with synth bass, clean guitar, and backing vocals.

Definitely not an all-purpose compressor, Rough Rider is at its best when used to add pump to rhythmic tracks. Of course, you can use it however you’d like. The Compressor Police aren’t gonna come to your house and give you a citation. Slap it on a track and crank some knobs.

Rough Rider for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available as freeware.

Audio Damage Automaton

Audio Damage has updated Automaton, a cellular automata effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Automaton is a unique look at buffer effects, allowing you to experiment with artificial life within your DAW.

With four separate effects (Stutter, Modulate, Bitcrush, and Replicate) driven by a cellular automata sequencer, Automaton is capable of adding subtle seemingly random fills and “humanizing” effects, but if you like, you can crank the sequencer up to eleven, and watch as your DAW becomes a petri dish while Automaton makes complete hay of the track you’ve inserted it to.

Changes in Automaton v1.1

  • Many minor bug fixes.
  • All versions are now 32- and 64-bit compatible.

Automaton for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $49 USD. The update is free for existing users.

Audio Damage releases Kombinat Dva multi-band distortion effect

Audio Damage Kombinat Dva

Audio Damage has released Kombinat Dva, a multi-band distortion effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

From mild tone-shaping or adding a bit of grit to full-on total waveform destruction, Kombinat Dva, the long-awaited sequel to our popular Kombinat plug-in, is a complete toolbox of sonic warfare.

With 13 different options in each of the three distortion engines (plus pass-through), Kombinat Dva is capable of sophisticated and unique sounds. Want to add a ring mod to the low end, a mild tube clip to the mids, and a bit-reduction algorithm to the high end? No problem. Want to run your signal through three sine-warps or fuzz algorithms in series? This is your box.

Kombinat Dva features

  • Crossover: Kombinat Dva features a DJ-style three-band isolator EQ for band-killing effects and extreme tone-carving on the front end. This leads to the three distortion engines, which can be run in crossover (multi) mode, or in series.
  • Multiple Distortion Types: Kombinat Dva adds six new algorithms to the seven in the original Kombinat, for a total of 13 paths to destruction. From subtle tube-style clipping to the bizarre distorto-delay of the Nerd Rage algorithm, Kombinat Dva can cover all the bases without unnecessary complexity.
  • Feedback: If the algorithms weren’t enough, Kombinat Dva has an internal feedback control, tied to an envelope follower. Results may vary, but are always hairy.
  • Filter: Kombinat Dva has a resonant low-pass filter on the output that self-oscillates at high Q like the original Kombinat, but also adds a second low-pass type, and a bypass.
  • One-Kontrol Kompressor: A favorite feature of the original Kombinat, the one-knob compressor, tuned for collapsing distorted signals to roadkill, remains in Kombinat Dva. Except it’s a slider now, and “one slider compressor” doesn’t sound as cool.
  • Presets: Kombinat Dva includes the 40 presets from the original, plus 40 all-new presets that take advantage of the new engines and feedback, for a total of 80 presets.
  • MIDI Learn: MIDI Learn on every control (VST only) allows you full hardware control over Kombinat Dva.

Kombinat Dva for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $49 USD. Kombinat users can upgrade for $10 USD.

Audio Damage updates Panstation to v1.0.1

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Jun 16, 2011 - comment 1 comment
Audio Damage Panstation

Audio Damage has released version 1.0.1 of Panstation, a panning effect plug-in for Windows and mac.

Panstation is, without question, the most sophisticated autopanner plug-in available. We started with a loose model of the venerable Drawmer M500′s panning engine, then added the counting features from the Audio & Design PanScan (probably the most famous vintage autopanner, and the “secret weapon” of many well-known producers.) The result is an autopanner plug-in that is second to none in both feature set and sound.

Changes in Panstation v1.0.1

  • A problem that was preventing authorization on some 64-bit systems on both Windows and Mac has been fixed.
  • “Pan CC” mode now only responds to correct MIDI controller. Previously it had responded to any controller.

Panstation for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $39 USD.
