Orange Tree Samples releases Cherry Electric Bass

Orange Tree Samples has released Cherry Electric Bass, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Orange Tree Samples Cherry Electric Bass

We’ve combined the most common bass playing techniques–fingered, muted fingered, picked, muted picked, and slapped articulations–into a detailed, easy-to-use solution for virtual bass. We sampled the five-string bass all the way down to its low B string, giving you plenty of room in the low notes. The bass was sampled directly from its output jack (DI), giving you the freedom of applying your own EQ, compressor, and other effects. Even completely dry, the bass has a full, deep tone, and easily fits right into any mix.

Cherry Electric Bass has over 2.5 GB of samples (compressed via Kontakt’s lossless NCW compression to 1.4 GB), powered by extensive scripting to maximize these samples, not only making the sample library ultra-realistic, but very playable and easy to sequence with. Whether you’re sequencing the bass track note by note or performing it live from a MIDI keyboard, the combination of high quality samples and extensive scripting makes your bass track sound like a live bassist.

Cherry Electric Bass features

  • Over 2.5 GB of 24-bit samples (compressed to 1.4 GB using Kontakt’s lossless NCW compression).
  • Sampled down to a low B.
  • Up to 8x round-robin.
  • Automatic hammer-on, pull-off, slide up, slide down legato articulations.
  • Customizable mapping system that allows you to map the articulations by velocity, controller, keyswitch, or whichever method you prefer.
  • Lots of effects, such as slides, muted notes, fret noises, string slaps, and much more.

Cherry Electric Bass for Kontakt 4/5 is available to purchase for the introductory price of $99 USD until February 29th at 11:59 PM PST (regular $129 USD). Owners of the discontinued CoreBass Cherry sample libraries are eligible for a special upgrade discount.

Impact Soundworks releases Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition

Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Impact Soundworks Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition

Following the success of our Shreddage and Shreddage X guitar libraries, we’ve received countless requests for a rock & metal bass library. Rather than settle for a simple instrument limited in genre, we decided to go further and create a deep-sampled, versatile bass sample library with intuitive mapping and easy-to-mix tone. Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition is the culmination of our efforts and the suggestions of our customers.

The DI tone of this library is thick and full, but sits well in any mix. The built-in scripted interface has a three-band EQ customized for sweet spots, allowing the user to customize the tone further combined with the built-in compression, amp and limiter. These features enable Shreddage Bass: PE to be used for not just rock & metal, but dance, pop, jazz, funk, disco and everything in between. We covered all the vital articulations in our usual depth: open notes, mutes, staccatos, hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides were recorded with up to 8x round robins (up and down strokes) plus three dynamic layers.

Despite having over 2,000 samples and a wealth of possible playing styles, Shreddage Bass: PE is easy to use with a left hand/right hand mapping style that does not require keyswitches, MIDI CCs or pedal control. Plus, the scripting engine, which supports things like customizable legato, anti-repetition, automatic octaves and a downstrokes-only mode, is not CPU-intensive making this instrument light on resources but not on tone!

Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition for Kontakt 4+ is available to purchase for $59 USD. Through December 2011, existing Shreddage users can crossgrade for $39 USD.

New users can purchase the library as part of a bundle that includes both original Shreddage libraries plus our Acoustic Revolutions volume 1 acoustic guitar collection for $99 USD until December 31, 2011.
