FXpansion has released the BFD Dunnett Ti, a BFD2 & BFD Eco expansion kit featuring a full set of hand-made prototype Titanium drums from renowned master drum-builder Ronn Dunnett.

With shells made from solid titanium, the Dunnett Ti kit is one of the most advanced all-metal drumkits ever created, and is suitable for all styles of music that demand powerful, musical drums. As well as two kicks and five toms, the package features a Dunnett snare drum and a full set of cymbals.

In addition to detailed direct, overhead and room mic sets, BFD Dunnett Ti contains an amp channel when used in BFD2, which can be dialled in to provide a variety of aggressive but organic drum sounds. Provided in the Amb3 mic channel, it features the kit fed through a Sovtek Mig 60 amp and Marshall 4×12 cabinet, mic’d with Royer 122 ribbons in a Blumlein configuration.

BFD Dunnett Ti is recorded in the same room with the same studio conditions as the Jazz & Funk, B.O.M.B., JEX, Decatom, Sleishman and Yamaha expansion libraries. It has also been designed to sound great with BFD2′s built-in library as well as with BFD libraries recorded in other locations.

FXpansion has announced the release of JM Essentials Vol.1, a BFD Groove Pack produced by vastly experienced composer Jacques Mathias.

Cymbal Master has announced the release of Virtually Erskine – Peter Erskine Drum Sample Library, an expansion for BFD2 and BFD Eco featuring two of Peter’s personal drum kits.

The Virtually Erskine Sound Library features Peter playing two of his kits recorded and produced in high definition by John Emrich.

This collection features Peter Erskine playing every articulation. All recordings were done in Peter’s private studio and represent the same pristine sound featured on many of his most recent releases.

Virtually Erskine Drum Sample Library features

• Played by Peter Erskine (Weather Report, Steely Dan, Steps Ahead, Diana Krall, Jaco Pastorius).
• Formatted for FXpansion BFD2 and BFD Eco.
• Includes 2 of Peter Erskine’s complete drum kits: a DW Jazz Series kit and DW Collectors VLT kit (for fusion, rock & pop) recorded in his own personal studio to capture his signature “sound”.
• The Jazz kit is played with both sticks and brushes.

Cymbal Masters has also released the Virtually Erskine MIDI Grooves Library, featuring over 400 MIDI grooves of Peter playing 12 unique styles in 3/4 and 4/4, including Jazz, Swing, Rock, Funk and Afro-Cuban styles. The files are formatted for BFD2, BFD Eco as well as General MIDI which can be used with any GM compatible drum software or hardware.

FXpansion has released BFD Remix, the first Geist Expander sound library.

BFD Remix provides high-quality acoustic drum samples, kits, engines and patterns ready to use in Geist. BFD Remix combines pristine acoustic sounds with fat-sounding FX treatments within Geist to provide a versatile set of drum sounds that range from subtle kits to cutting edge, aggressive sounds that tear through a mix.

The samples in BFD Remix can also be used in any software that supports WAV and REX2 format samples.
