Variety Of Sound announces NastyDLA

Variety Of Sound has announced NastyDLA, a free chorus/echo effect plug-in for Windows.

There are just a few audio effects available that are capable of instantly turning a small and wimpy riff into something big and meaningful. One of them is the classic chorus/echo combination. Beside the individual classic echo or chorus devices these combined devices were historically build around true tape or bucket brigade delays.

From today’s production standards perspective they might be easily overseen (feature wise) but on the other hand they are still pretty much demanded due to their specific and warm tone and this unique sound quality is probably the charm which still today attracts producers and audio engineers to use them in their actual music productions.

NastyDLA is going to follow this path and recreates all the specific tone qualities while adding just some few but well selected modern features.

NastyDLA features

  • Classic chorus and echo effects.
  • Authentic signal path coloration.
  • Tape-delay style feedback and saturation.

NastyDLA is coming this autumn, as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows PC.

Variety Of Sound announces NastyVCS

Variety Of Sound NastyVCS

Variety Of Sound has announced NastyVCS, a virtual console strip effect plug-in for Windows.

Bootsy writes:

I’m really proud to announce the NastyVCS virtual console strip which finally brings the beloved “nasty” signal coloration series onto the next level.

Build entirely new around an opto-electric style compression unit, NastyVCS offers everything you need to shape your channels dynamics and tone. It offers a dedicated input stage featuring crunchy pre-amp saturation and a brickwall safety limiter in the output stage while everything is set up to work in zero latency and so to have it available for hassle free tracking and mixing. Two dedicated filters can be used in either the audio path or in the compressors sidechain which can be external as well. Wether pre or post compression, the equalizer section offers four interacting coloring tools with very well-selected musical sounding curves. The concept gets rounded by a phase alignment tool which can be used for coloring purposes as well.

NastyVCS is scheduled for release in spring 2010 as freeware for PC and VST compatible hosts.
