Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Jan 21, 2010

Variety Of Sound (Bootsy) has released version 1.5 of epicVerb, a free reverb effect plug-in for Windows.

One year ago the initial release of epicVerb digital reverberation simulator was made available and as of today the epicVerb 1.5 major update is released.

It contains not only some bugfixes and stability improvements but also some re-worked algorithms which supports way more dense and three-dimensional reverberation processing.

Changes in epicVerb v1.5

  • Stability improvements, especially for the memory issues that were causing crashes when deleting plugins in some host applications.
  • Improved reverb tail generation (affects faster density build up, diffusion and depth perception).
  • MOD knob does not disappear anymore when ctrl+click.
  • Plug-in does not write separate .dat file to disc anymore.

Bootsy releases FerricTDS

Bootsy has released FerricTDS, a free tape dynamics simulation effect plug-in for Windows.

Bootsy FerricTDS
Bootsy FerricTDS

Inspired by the smooth dynamic shaping capabilities of some high-end reel-to-reel tape recorders, this plug-in simulates three of the most distinctive and much appreciated sonic effects generated by these devices:

  • DYNAMICS – gently shaping the overall dynamic response
  • SATURATION – adding extra harmonic-related content
  • LIMITING – controlling peak performance

FerricTDS features

  • Performs gentle audio dynamic treatments.
  • Masters difficult to handle audio material.
  • Adds extra harmonics and saturation effects.
  • Controls outgoing audio peaks.
  • State-of-the-art digital signal processing.
  • 4x oversampled core algorithms.
  • Performance-critical parts are written in assembler.
  • Completely SSE-optimized.

FerricTDS is available as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows PC. It is part of the KVR Developer Challenge 2009.

Bootsy updates Density mkII to v2.0.1

Density mkII

Bootsy has released version 2.0.1 of Density mkII, a smooth and versatile stereo bus dynamic processor for Windows PC.

Density mkII was primarily designed to work in a typical stereo audio group mixing situation or while summing and to glue all things together in a rather unobtrusive way. Yet it’s capable of signal colouring but in a subtle and pleasant way and also can perform quiet different tasks very versatile.

Changes in Density mkII v2.0.1

  • Sudden CPU spiking on some system configurations is fixed now.
  • Plug-In is loading properly into Wavelab now.

Note: There is still an issue with older SSE (SSE1) compatible systems where a fix is already in the making but not yet stable and it is unclear when this will finally been done. Therefore some older machines are still not supported for the moment with this Plug-In release.

Density mkII is available for download as a freeware VST effect plug-in for PC (SSE2 type CPU).

Bootsy releases Density mkII

Bootsy has released Density mkII, a smooth and versatile stereo bus dynamic processor for Windows.

This device ain’t modeled after any specific outboard gear but rather incorporates some proven dynamic shaping approaches from the past, combined in a seamless fashion with some much more modern concepts in audio processing – the best of both worlds.

Density mkII was primarily designed to work in a typical stereo audio group mixing situation or while summing and to glue all things together in a rather unobtrusive way. Yet it’s capable of signal colouring but in a subtle and pleasant way and also can perform quiet different tasks very versatile.
