Fingerpushers has released VZone, a new sample-based instrument for Kontakt.
VZone sets the focus on one of the coolest digital instruments ever built: the Casio VZ. Compared with Casios highly successful CZ-series, Casio created the VZ – a vastly improved synthesizer using Casios own FM-style architecture: iPD (Interactive Phase Distortion).
VZone is a celebration of all things VZ. First we sampled 24 of our favorite sounds, and to make sure the sounds could be used for more than its original style, we looped each and every sound. If you ever tried to loop an FM-style bass sound, you understand we put in a lot of work capturing the waveforms.
There are three identical oscillators, where each sound has its own volume, envelope, pitch, pan and filter. Creating massive stacks is as simple as blending your favorite sounds together.
VZone comes with 102 presets spanning from bells and pads to basses and leads.
VZone features
323 megabyte sound pool. The oscillators have been sampled in great detail. Even sounds traditionally difficult to loop has been looped.
102 presets.
All files in 44.1 kHz, 16 bit WAV format. Requires Kontakt 4 or newer.
Detunized has announced the release of the All Digitals sound library library for Ableton Live.
All Digitals represents the sound of digital synth classics from the past decades. DetunizedĀ“s lead sound designer Stephan Marche picked out the best presets from his releases “Casiopeia”, “Binaries”, “Phase Facets”, “fTable”, “Composite Keys” and “4op” – a palette of Live Packs that feature such gear like a TX81z, a WSA-1, a Rapman, an OPL-3 FM chip and both of the famous Hohner sampler/synth devices.
All Digitals is built around a 3.1 Gig sample pool that consists of nearly 5000 samples. Each of the 222 included Live Racks has fine-tuned Macro controls and is ready to play right out of the box.
The All Digitals pack is currently available for an introductory price of 15 EUR (regular price 39 EUR).
Puremagnetik has announced the release of Skatik, a collection of instruments, sound effects, percussion kits and looped digital freak-outs sourced from a heavily circuit bent Casio SK-5.
The most interesting on-board sounds have been multi-sampled and then recorded in circuit bent variations. The system sampling engine was exploited for it’s lo-fi specification (8bit/9khz) and then under-powered to create exceptionally textured sound effects and percussion kits. At one point during Puremagnetik’s modifications we unlocked a mysterious tweak that caused the internal SK-5 sequences to re-arrange themselves randomly and to loop irregularly. These bizarre tonal oddities have been meticulously looped and programmed into three large instruments for endless experimentation.
Skatik features
A complete circuit bent Casio SK-5 synthesizer emulation.
Hundreds of high quality samples.
Ableton Live Racks with precise incremental controls.
Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI .
Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.
Statik is now available to download for Puremagnetik subscribers.
Extent of the Jam has updated the Mac version of its Digits free phase distortion synthesizer inspired by Casio’s CZ series.
The interface is minimal and designed to enable the user to create sounds from scratch in record time! And, if you’re too busy for that, it comes with 51 lush presets that run the gamut from pads to stabs, leads and basses.
Digits takes Casio’s CZ series phase distortion synthesis to the limit.
Changes in Digits v1.3
Full editor GUI.
Much lower CPU usage.
New global gain setting.
Better bank/patch management.
More presets.
Digits v1.3 for Mac (VST) is available to download now. The Windows 1.3 version will be released soon.
Daevlmakr has released its Daevl.SK9, a collection of 99 new Instrument Racks for Ableton Live, built from high-quality, original multisamples of the SK1′s preset sounds.
All Daevl.SK9 Instrument Racks are built with triple macro control panels: a voice module, an effects module and a channel strip.
Daevl.SK9: the SK1 never sounded like this before. Filled with ethereal pads, strange syncopations, buzzing leads and gargoyled textures, we’ve taken the lo-fi, digital aliasing soul of the SK1 and given it a new chassis, one in which its voice can finally reach full range. Built for The Now, it’s the SK1 reimagined as a rough and ready, cyborganic space cruiser.
Big ugly basses, tentacled arpeggios, gritty rhythmic structures, chip dust faeries embedded in amber, howling slabs of atmosphere. Ambient to elektro, synthwave to sparklepop, industrial to disco, witch house to wubstep: if you like the strange and exploratory you’ll love Daevl.SK9.
Daevl.SK9 is compatible with Ableton Live 8 Standard and Suite. The library is available to purchase for the introductory price of $9 USD for a limited time.
Synth Magic has released FZed, a sample library for Native Intruments Kontakt.
This Kontakt instrument uses sounds sampled into a Casio FZ-1 sampler and the sounds have lots of great vibe to them.
Just under 1GB of sounds and 200 presets ready for your musical productions or tweek away using the graphical user interface.
I have been a user of the FZ-1 for many years and love the way it adds ‘that something’ to anything sampled into it. The Sound sources are from various vintage synths and drum machines/drum synths which have been sampled into the Casio FZ-1 which has imparted it’s own sonic stamp on the samples.
The sounds have been passed through the lovely analogue filter of the FZ1 (Popular misconception that the FZ-1 filter is digital, it’s not, it is a digitaly controlled analogue filter and sounds great).
The output from the FZ-1 was then connected to a series of vintage valve pre-amps before sampling for use in Kontakt.
The FZed sample library is available to purchase for the introductory price of £8.95 GBP.
