Best Service releases Mystica – Female Chamber Choir

Best Service has announced the launch of Mystica, a female chamber choir Kontakt Player library by Eduardo Tarilonte.

Best Service Mystica

With Mystica, Eduardo Tarilonte continues his incomparable series of vocal-libraries. This classical chamber choir consists of eight extraordinary female vocalists, delivering a unique, enchanting sound without comparison.

Mystica has been designed as a female-choir-library for unconfined solo use. At the same time, the library forms a perfectly matched mixed choir when being combined with Cantus. Therefore, Mystica has been recorded under identical conditions in spanish KBYO Recording Studios, located in Granada, using eight selected Neumann microphones and Avalon preamps.

To ensure perfect team play of both libraries, Mystica offers the same words and wordbuilder as Cantus. In addition, there is a new possibility for quick exchanges of phrases and wordbuilder-settings between the libraries – in both directions. This way, the combination of Mystica and Cantus forms an impressive tool to create overwhelming choir passages.

Mystica features

  • Unique „Numen Ensemble“ female choir with eight vocalists.
  • 5 GB WAV samples, 24 bit/44.1 kHz.
  • NI Kontakt Player license included – no further sampler required.
  • Created with Kontakt 5.3.1.
  • 5 “True Legato” vowels (A, E, I, O, U), separate “Mmmh”-articulation.
  • Powerful wordbuilder with 24 words and three different articulations (staccato, fast, slow).
  • Words can be separated in 120 short words/syllables.
  • Combine words with True-Legato vowels – automatic vowel selection.
  • 100 Gregorian vocal phrases.
  • 12 soundscapes, moulded from vocal recordings.
  • Additional vocal effects.
  • New import/export functions to exchange wordbuilder-patches between Mystica and Cantus.
  • Dry recordings, perfect to be spiced up with individual reverberation.

Mystica is available for purchase for MSRP 199 EUR/$229 USD/£159 GBP. Includes latest NI Kontakt Player.

Impact Soundworks releases Vocalisa: Slavic Women’s Choir for Kontakt

Impact Soundworks Vocalisa

Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Vocalisa: Slavic Women’s Choir, a virtual instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Vocalisa features the traditional vocal ensemble sound of Bulgaria and other Slavic regions, as popularized in albums such as “Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares” and soundtracks like “Xena: Warrior Princess”. The library is available for special introductory pricing through June 30, 2014.

The choir of Vocalisa is provided in multiple section sizes: full choir, altos, sopranos, mezzos, and soloist, with independent patches and controls for each. The library offers a selection of the most frequently-used syllables, ornaments, and vocal effects in this style of music, along with dynamics ranging from the quietest sotto voce pianissimo to the loud, brassy fortissimo that Slavic choirs are known for.

Impact Soundworks was founded in 2007 by award-winning composers Andrew Aversa and Wilbert Roget, II with the goal of creating innovative, affordable and unique sample libraries “designed with composers in mind.” Impact Soundworks instruments and libraries can be heard on countless blockbuster film, video game, and television scores.

“Ever since hearing ‘Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares’, I’ve fallen in love with Slavic music,” said Roget, lead designer of the library. “To properly capture that sound and present it in a virtual instrument has taken over three years, but the result has been well-worth it!”

In addition to multiple section sizes and articulations, Vocalisa includes two intuitive playing modes: a “grid mode” allows for manual programming of syllables in patterns that can be saved or loaded as presets, while the “keyswitch mode” provides a method of playing and triggering any syllable or ornament in real-time. The inspiring user interface of Vocalisa also comprises built-in effects, individual syllable tweaking and offsets, and mixing tools.

“Our goal with Vocalisa was to create something both authentic and flexible. It’s equally well-suited to both traditional Slavic music, and hybrid cinematic cues with dense layering,” said Roget, “Or anything in-between. With all of the editing options available and both playback modes, you can customize the library to your tastes and personal style.”

Vocalisa: Slavic Women’s Choir is available for the introductory price of $99 USD until June 30th, 2014 (regular $129).

Soundiron Iron Pack 4

Soundiron has launched Iron Pack #4, a new micro-library which explores atmospheric children’s choral atmospheres and melodic tones.

Iron PackIron Pack 04 features eleven creative ambient and tonal synth pad instruments designed using English boy’s choir recordings. The main preset in the set is a beautiful acoustic choral sustain preset, featuring layered Ah (p) and OO (f) vowel sustains that we’ve hand selected from our famous Mercury Symphonic Boychoir library. We’ve included all of our favorite user controls in the Kontakt instruments, including the “Edge” knob for extreme shape transformations and the “Wind” convolution reverb selector, with 5 great halls/rooms and 5 creative FX impulses.

You’ll find regular unlocked nki presets for the full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later, as well as universal open source SFZ presets, if you don’t own Kontakt. The SFZ presets can be used in the free Sforzando Player, as a plugin or stand-alone engine, just like Kontakt. It can also be used in the free Alchemy Player by Camel Audio! The SFZ presets offer great sound, control features and playability.

The Iron Pack is available for purchase for $2.99 USD until May 27th, 2014. Requires full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later, or an SFZ 2.0 compatible engine.

FrozenPlain launches Phoenix instrument library for Kontakt

FrozenPlain Phoenix

FrozenPlain has announced the release of Phoenix, a strings and choir instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt which offers more than just samples.

Phoenix handles almost like a synth; it has envelopes, velocity controls, 2 customisable LFOs and 6 effects.

The sounds themselves originate from synthesisers and from granulised real samples – these have a characteristic smooth and organic sound. The 6 layers can be mixed, tuned, panned and even modulated with custom waveforms from LFOs.

Phoenix is good for big sustains – pads, string ensembles, ambient, spacy pads and it will work well for any genre.

Phoenix features

  • Samples originate from synthesisers. They have a smooth rich tone.
  • 6 layers or ‘oscillators’ which can be mixed, tuned and panned.
  • ADSR and velocity controls for volume and low pass filter.
  • 2 custom LFOs; draw your own waveforms and see the modulation happen.
  • Phoenix can create everything from realistic string ensembles to sci-fi beeps and pads.
  • 6 effects; chorus, phaser, flanger, distortion, reverb with 21 impulses and tempo synced delay.
  • 17 presets.

The library is available to purchase for $34 USD. Requires full version of Kontakt 5.
