Sinevibes has announced the release of Extremum, a new Audio Unit effect plug-in for Mac.
It is an effects processor built with one big goal: to turn even the most simple sounds into interesting, tonally rich new material.
It features a collection of phaser, chorus and filter algorithms comprised of up to 256 stages and 16 feedback lines – all of which apply radical but finely controllable transformations. And to take it even further, Extremum has its own tempo-synchronised modulator with multiple waveforms, variable lag and chaos.
- Six extreme effect algorithms: 256-stage phaser, 24-stage chorus, 16-stage positive/negative comb filter, 8-stage positive/negative barber-pole phaser.
- Modulation generator with 8 waveforms, adjustable lag and periodic chaos.
- Advanced transport sync algorithm with support for tempo and time signature automation.
Extremum for Mac (AU) is available for purchase for $29 USD.

Source Audio has announced it will present 12 new products in support of the Neuro Effects System at NAMM 2015.
An astounding 12 new products from Source Audio will debut during Winter NAMM 2015 at the Anaheim Convention Center on January 22nd. Each of these new products are components of Source Audio’s Neuro Effects System. The Neuro System is a series of stand-alone products that collectively comprise a fully integrated and programmable, MIDI controlled pedalboard, seamlessly bringing together vintage analog stomp boxes with state of the art Source Audio effects.
Between now and the start of the NAMM show, Source Audio will progressively unveil different components of the system, which includes new effect pedals, MIDI controllers, an expression pedal, and more.
The first product unveiled is the Gemini Chorus from the new “One Series” family of effect pedals. On the surface, the One Series are intuitive 4 knob pedals with a switch to select from three different styles effect – for example, the Gemini Chorus’s three effects are classic (single), dual, and quad chorus. However, each One Series pedal also includes a USB port that allows users to enter the Neuro Effects Editor (a free download) for Mac/Windows. The Effects Editor also comes in the form of the Neuro App for iOS and Android through a clever use of the headphone jack. Both of these software solutions offer easy access to an extensive world of adjustable parameters and additional controls. The Neuro Effects Editor can be used to create distinct tones that are easily stored in the user’s private library or shared with other One Series owners. More members of the One Series will be announced between now and NAMM.

Aly James Lab has released Elastic Bender, a peak triggered audio pitch bender effect plug-in with extended functions for Windows.
The Elastic Bender is based on emulated dual BBD (bucket brigade delay) chips which delay times are modulated by the peak triggered envelope. While the incoming audio peaks are detected by the circuitry, they will trigger an audio pitch envelope that will dynamically bend the note (s) from lower to the actual pitch or from higher to the actual pitch.
You can act on the depth and the speed of the pitch envelope and also make some unusual dynamic chorus, wild flanger, ring modulation and early vintage pitchshifter effects.
The virtual pedal can also “self oscillate” when the feedback is set to the max and control external hardware such as a Whammy 5 pedal via MIDI.
The plug-in is available for Windows (VST) for a minimum donation of 15 EUR. An OS X version will be available in 2015.
