Sound Magic has released version 1.2 of its Neo Plasma multi delay effect for Windows.
Neo Plasma is a new concept in multi delay type effects, completely unlike other systems.
Neo Plasma uses a Plasma Collision System to maximize the randomness of several parameters, creating a bigger and richer sound than is possible with standard FX boxes.
Changes in Neo Plasma v1.2
Fixes swap between left and right channel on some systems.
Default settings adjusted for a more natural sound.
New algorithm for plasma system.
Random range adjusted.
Many minor changes.
Neo Plasma for Windows (VST/Supreme Piano 2 add-on) costs 49 EUR.
u-he has announced the release of the Uhbik-F Rack Extension flanger effect unit for Propellerhead Reason.
The Uhbik-F flanger Rack Extension by u-he.
Our flanger, from through-zero tape flanging (dramatic jet-effect!) to classic stomp-box type chorus, with LFO modulation and feedback / resonance.
Uhbik-F simulates two tape machines per audio channel, with recording and playback heads that can even occupy the same position if you want – impossible in the real world! Bass frequencies can bypass the effect (‘bass sanctuary’) to ensure LF-stability while the rest of the sound is swept around. Turn up the drive (2nd harmonic distortion), and your lead line will scorch its way through any mix!
The Uhbik-F Rack Extension is available to purchase for the introductory price of $19 USD until November 12th 2012 (regular $39 USD).
Sonic Charge has announced the release of its Echobode effect plug-in for Propellerhead Reason.
Echobode is a delay effect with a frequency shifter placed inside the feedback loop.
Echobode is a frequency shifter combined with a delay. The frequency shifter algorithm is inspired by the classic Bode device and it has excellent sideband separation. The delay uses high quality all-pass interpolation and a built-in LFO can be used to modulate the effect.
Echobode is capable of creating many different effects from pure frequency shifting and echoes to phasers, flangers, choruses and more.
Echobode is available from the Propellerhead Shop for the introductory price of $25 USD / 19 EUR until October 31st, 2012 (regular price $39 USD / 32 EUR).
The Lower Rhythm has announced Edgar Allan, a modulation effect plugin for Windows.
Edgar Allan is a one of a kind modulation effect that combines three very tweakable delay lines and a phase-based tremolo to create anything from a lush chorus to warbly robotic sounds.
Edgar Allan features
Three separate delay lines.
Optional phase-based tremolo.
Several stages of blending.
‘Analog’ style beef added to the wet signal.
The plug-in (Windows VST) is available to purchase for $8.99 USD.
One Small Clue has released version 0.3.1 of Orange Chorus, a free chorus effect plug-in for Windows.
One Small Clue Orange Chorus VST effect plug-in for Windows PC.
I’m considering creating a series of free effect plugins, partly inspired by the Kjaerhus Classic series.
My current thought is to only create plugins which can be made with simple GUIs. Say a maxiumum of 8 knobs or switches. The simple controls will be a limiting factor on how effects are designed. However that should make the GUI’s quicker to produce, leaving more time to focus on the effect algorithms which is more fun.
My goal was to create a clear chorus effect that could be used to thicken or blur synth parts or vocals. I’m fairly happy with the plugin so far. Depending on the feedback I might tweak the chorus algorithms a bit more. I’m not sure about the all knob GUI design. I think it makes for an attractive overall layout, but perhaps switches would better represent the functionality of the MODE and SHAPE parameters.
Orange Chorus is available as a free download for Windows (32/64-bit VST).
