Cinematique Instruments has announced the release of Lute, a lute instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
The Lute was carefully sampled in minor thirds on all the 13 strings in 3 dynamic layers and 4 round robin variations. We spent a lot of time to capture the seamless transitions between these layers and variations, so that the instrument feels as natural and smooth as possible.
But this lute is not just sampled notes spread on a keyboard! It is more than this. Like on real string instruments it is now possible to play the same note in different hand positions, each with a different timbre. By changing this position you can make a melody sound different and achieve a more natural feel when played – this all happens live via modwheel, pedal or key switch.
As if this wasn’t enough, we also concentrate on the behavior of the course strings. Beside a separate volume knob, we furthermore defined the parameters flam and detune, which lets you vary the time and the tune in relation to the original string. This can be adjusted by separate knobs and then again can be controlled randomly or via velocity. Finally we recorded sounds of finger scratching the strings, which will be automatically added by a realistic noise trigger script – of course you can control the volume.
Once again, with the Lute we expanded our string family with an unique and warm instrument.
The library is available for purchase for 38 EUR. Requires full version of Kontakt 4.22 or higher.

Cinematique Instruments has announced Shruti Box, a Kontakt instrument library featuring traditional drones and a shruti-sizer.
The Shruti Box is a traditional Indian instrument which works on a system of bellows. It is a keyless version of the harmonium, which was invented for the specifc purpose of producing drone sounds. On the front it has 12 valves to control the pitch. The instrument is generally used to accompany other instruments in rehearsal sessions or concerts of classical Indian music. But the shruti box is enjoying a renaissance in the West amongst traditional and contemporary musicians who are using it for a range of different styles.
We carefully sampled the individual notes, even the noises which are produced by the bellow and paid special attention to capture the unique character of a Shruti Box which can described as rough and vibrant. Traditionally the Shruti Box has a range of 13 notes which we expanded up to 3 full octaves. In order to get a realistic Shruti sound and enrich the sound with vividness we provided two kinds of pump action which can be switched on separately. We also added distortion, chorus and a rotary simulation to shape the sound as well as a special sustain mode which will play an endless drone. All these features are giving the Shruti Box nice options to shape the sound.
But that’s not all! We thought how could we push the Shruti Box forward to much more versatility? And that’s why invented the Shruti-Sizer:
If you turn around the Shruti Box you are getting to a complete different interface which has nothing to do with the traditionally Shruti Box. It reminds you to an old synthesizer look with knobs, symbols and an oscilloscope. It is a complex LFO modulation section. You can modulate several parameter by four different wave forms with a variable speed. It puts the Shruti Box to another level and lets you create individual pad sounds an even constantly evolving rhythmic textures.
The result of it all is a unique instrument and a perfect supplement to the Cinematique Instruments family.
The library is available for purchase for 28 EUR. Requires Kontakt 4.22 or higher, full version.

Cinematique Instruments has announced Concert Zither, a virtual zither instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt.
We treated the Concert Zither very hard. We plucked, stroke and strummed all the strings to get every possible sound, noise and articulation the Zither can make. Finally we assembled 6 different patches. Firstly there are two the main patch with all the 36 strings recorded in 4 round robin variations and several (up to four) dynamic layer. We additionally recorded the 31 accompaniment strings in a muted variation.
All these notes were recorded with two different types of microphones: a large-diaphragm condenser pair as well as a classic dynamic microphone. By turning a corresponding mic balance knob you can infinitely mix between these two different sound properties. Finally – in order to shape the sound – we added a complex script to achieve lots of different variations of the Concert Zither. By moving the mod wheel you can fade between vibrato and non-vibrato notes.
Beside the main complex patches we provide another 4 useful FX patches, separated into textures, strokes & hits (with dynamic layers) and weird noises. Here you find a great assortment of rare and exceptional FX string sounds.
Concert Zither features
- Includes 6 patches:
- Concert Zither Natural.
- Concert Zither Cinematique.
- Cacophony Textures.
- FX (glissandi and noises).
- CZ FX Percussive.
- Cacophony Dead.
- ~2 GB content, over 2,100 samples.
The library is available for purchase for 38 EUR. Requires full version of Kontakt 4.22 or higher.

Cinematique Instruments has announced the release of Gecko Kaleidoscope, a collection of deep pads and mellow spheres for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Gecko Kaleidsoscope runs under the new Gecko version 3. Now, each slot is equipped with a separate high-, lowpassfilter, pitch, reverb and delay knob.
Our major goal was the creation of deep ambient pads and mellow spheres. In order to forfill the needs of complex pads we pushed the Gecko concept a little bit forward.
Now, each of the six slots is equipped with a separate pitch, high- and lowpass filter, reverb and delay knob. Beside the Fly Table feature we now included the ability of moving frequencies for the master low- and highpass filter. Furthermore we increased the amount of sound sources from about 20 to 38 sounds. The sound sources are divided into 3 groups :
- an organic area with feedbacks, distortions, bells, solo violins or bowed strings
- a keys area with sounds from old classical synthesizers
- a fx area with noise, hizz, crackle and field recording.
All this improvements raised the amount of presets up to 43.
Gecko Kaleidoscope is a wonderful tool for big and deep motion pads and background ambients. It covers a wide range, from bright electronic ambients to spheric string textures, over deep background pads to fx sounds. All these sounds will be useful and inspiring for your work. They will fit into many styles of music and will give your piece of music a special kind of depth and richness!
Gecko Kaleidoscope is available to purchase for 46 EUR. Requires full version of Kontakt 4.22 or higher.

Cinematique Instruments has announced Poing!, a virtual instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Poing? Just let two balls bouncing inside an enclosed area and let them play a sound each time they are contacting an obstacle! That exactly is Poing – It is musical Ping Pong. But also much more….
Poing! is a self generating musical tool which makes sounds by every touch of two balls with the border of an area in which the balls are bouncing or 3 bars inside this area. These bars can also move either automatically or controlled by the mod wheel. Poing! provides four different sound sources, which can be mixed with four seperate knobs. These are a Monochord, a Gentle Glockenspiel, a normal Sinus Sounds and the sound of a glass bowl.
In order to shape the sound of Poing there are available a lot of options: reverb, delay, phaser and a low pass resonance filter. But you can also set the pitch and the scale of the generated notes. There are available 10 different kinds of scales such as major-, minor, whole-tone, chromatic or mixed scales. Finally you can separatly start each ball and adjust the speed of them. Because of its advanced
scripting Poing! is like the 80ies video game – just musically fun.
Beside using Poing! as a self generating tool you are also free to play Poing! manually with your keyboard.
The Poing! library for Kontakt is available to for 16 EUR. Requires Kontakt 4 or higher full version.
