Cinematique Instruments releases Gecko Kasimir und Karoline

Cinematique Instruments has announced Kasimir und Karoline, a special designed Gecko Series sound library for Native Istruments Kontakt.

Gecko Kasimir und Karoline

It was created to be the master tool for writing the score to a modern adaption of Ödön von Horváth’s famous play “Kasimir and Karoline” which was recently premiered in a big German theatre. In order to fulfil all the demands of the script and the director, we collected, recorded and produced tons of sounds, textures and noises, mixed them up and put them into the Gecko framework. The result is the most versatile and complex Gecko we´ve created so far.

The Gecko Kasimir und Karoline provides a great range of sounds: Atmospherique stringpads, weird atmospheres, bright and complex textures as well as special FX sounds such as “Kinderplatz”, “Oktoberfest” and “Lost Bells” and many more. This great mixture will fit perfectly into many styles of music, but will specially find its perfect purpose in individual and extraordinary scores.

Kasimir und Karoline is available to purchase for 42 EUR.

Cinematique Instruments releases Ronroco & 8string Ukulele

Cinematique Instruments Ronroco & 8string Ukelele

Cinematique Instruments has announced the release of Ronroco & 8string Ukulele, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

The Ronroco is a stringed mandolin like instrument of the Andean regions. It has a sound box traditionally fashioned from the shell of an armadillo or tortoise, now often made of wood. It typically has 10 strings in five courses of 2 strings each. Primarily played in traditional Andean music, today, it is often to be heard in the music of Gustavo Santaolalla.
As a bonus we also recorded a soprano Ukulele which was manually customized from a four to eight string version.

In order to build a realistic instrument we recorded both instruments with 4 different microphones positions. Finally we decided to release two different ronroco instruments: a raw Ronroco with a mix of all microphones and a fine Ronroco with just one close microphone.

The Ronroco was recorded in 4 Round Robin variations and 3-5 velocity layers. Both patches are coming along with several options to shape the sound such as EQ, cabinet, distortion, reverb, delay and a soft touch button for a more gentle playing. Beside that, the fine version includes also a simple arpeggiator with separate pad and noise control. The Ronroco is very inspiring and will certainly enrich your music production.

The 8string ukulele is available in 3 kinds of single notes (muted, short and open) and contains a powerful speciality: a 16th note strumming sequencer. In order to achieve a real strumming feeling you can choose between up- or downstroke notes and muted or open notes and you are free to add strumming noise to it. This is fun. Please check out the demos.

The sound library costs 27 EUR.

Cinematique Instruments launches Gecko 2.0

Cinematique Instruments has announced version 2.0 of Gecko, a collection of Kontakt sound libraries.

Cinematique Instruments Gecko 2.0

What is new I’m 2.0?

Beside some general performance enhancements, bug-fixing, improvement of all presets and a new GUI, Gecko version 2.0 comes along with some new presets, a delay with selectable delay times and a new outstanding feature called Flying Table.

By enabling the Flying Table switch, the volume fader of each instrument automatically starts to move around the previous set amount. You can adjust the tempo and the range of this self oscillating volume movement by tuning the corresponding knobs “Range” and “Speed”. By disabling the Flying Table© feature the volume of each instrument slot goes back to its original level. Every slot has its own speed and differs from each other.

This function enables Gecko V2 to endless variations. Each pad or texture changes continuously and never sounds the same. Using the Flying Table for short attack keyboard sounds or mallets you are able to add a natural feeling with smooth and subtile variations to the sound. It’s also possible to apply this feature as “big” vibrato or gate. Endless possibilities!

Gecko 2.0 is a free update for existing users.

Cinematique Instruments Grand 3P
Cinematique Instruments’ Steinway A sound library for NI Kontakt.

The Grand 3P is a very versatile instrument with a lot of fantastic opportunities. You´ll find it perfectly suitable for film scores, classical music and contemporary pop as well as virtually any other music style that requires a great sounding piano.

In order to build a versatile and complex instrument there are many editing options. Besides regular tools such as reverb (with 5 different types), delay, speaker simulation and a four-band EQ there are some outstanding features available. This includes the Soft Vel, the Tone, the Bottom and the key option. The key option gives you the ability to choose between the different mic positions and microphones that were used in the original recording session.

Inside the Grand (Gefell MV691), outside the Grand (pair of Neumann KM149) and in the room (pair of Neumann KM184) – all notes recorded with 9 velocity layer. This will let you decide about the amount of close miking and natural ambiance you want to use in your production.

The Grand 3P comes with 20 different presets divided in the 3 categories ‘Cinematique’, ‘Natural’ and ‘Effect’ which gives you the ability to quickly dial your favourite sounds for your own music.

Grand 3P is available to purchase for 58 EUR.

Cinematique Instruments rounds up “Clearing Out” with Basic Marimba sound library

Cinematique Instruments has announced the release of Basic Marimba, the last in its 2012 “Clearing Out” series of sound libraries.

Cinematique Instruments Basic Marimba
Basic Marimba includes 3 patches: regular marimba, muted marimba and towel marimba.

A marimba is a percussion instrument which consists of a set of wooden bars with resonators which are struck with mallets to produce its tone.

As the name of our release „Basic Marimba“ suggests, we are coming up with a rough and basic version of a marimba. This is because we recorded the marimba on the fly in between an orchestral break. By saying that, it becomes obvious that we only intended to take a snapshot of the marimba: we quickly miked it up and recorded some of the main playing techniques with up to 3 Round Robin variations and 3 velocity layers. In order to get a proper and useful instrument we spent some more time with post production and editing the whole instrument.

Even though we are aware of the fact that our marimba is not a very complex and extravagant instrument, we still decided to release the “Basic Marimba” as the final piece in our series of “Clearing Out the Stock”. The Basic Marimba is well suited for quite a lot music productions.

The Basic Marimba for Kontakt is available to purchase for 15 EUR.
