Coincidental Music has announced a Solstice Special, offering up to 25% off its soundsets for a limited time.
I usually hold a little bit of a sale around my birthday in August. This year, though, I’ve brought it forward a bit for various reasons, not least that I’m enjoying the summer weather (apart from the pollen) and fancy doing something other than emailing out orders on my birthday. Besides, a solstice is something that we all share, no matter which hemisphere we’re in.
I’m also planning to expand Textur with some extra patches – some of which make use of the handy new Mod Map drawing features found in the latest version of ACE. If you haven’t yet taken the opportunity to install version 1.3, I urge you to do so: there are a lot of tiny bug fixes and some splendid new Howard Scarr presets too. The Textur upgrade will, as ever, be free.
- Textur (64 patches for U-he ACE): £5 (normal price £6).
- After Hours (100 patches for AAS Lounge Lizard EP-4): £7.50 (normal price £9).
- Prism Sticks (150 patches for AAS Chromaphone): £10 (normal price £12.50).
The sale ends June 30th, 2014.

Coincidental Music has launched Textur, a collection of 64 patches for the ACE modular synthesizer instrument by u-he.
What can I say about ACE? It gives my ears pleasure in the same way that a Mini Moog used to. It encourages exploration and experimentation in an immediate way that most subtractive synths can’t match. And it’s so rich and responsive that you can really get in deep and fine tune sounds. Three cheers for the shift key!
These patches are the result of 18 months of happy exploration with ACE. I’ve made efforts to make them playable even on modest machines, and this means that many of them can be played as keyboard sounds without too much regard for the consequences.
You’ll find a good number of pads, ranging from bright, ethereal sounds to dark, atonal drones. There are bells, soundscapes, keys and organs, and a smattering of FX, leads and percussion.
The soundset is available for the introductory price of £5 GBP until April 8th, 2014 (regular £6 GBP).
Coincidental Music is also offering a discount on its After Hours (100 patches for AAS Lounge Lizard EP-4) and Prism Sticks (150 patches for AAS Chromaphone) soundsets until April 8th.

Coincidental Music has announced its Prism Stick and Happy Hour soundsets for the Applied Acoustics Systems Chromaphone and Lounge Lizard EP-3 software synthesizer instruments.
It’s been somewhat delayed, but at last Prism Sticks for Chromaphone is here.
In the end, as the patch count headed up way beyond the 200 mark, I thought I would end up with two patchbanks. However, I’ve whittled it down considerably and I hope you find the patches useful, inspiring and fun.
Prism Sticks features
- 125 patches: 10 Bells & Chimes, 23 Keys, 19 Pads, 10 Percussive Atmospheres, 13 Percussive Hits, 11 Plucks & Strings, 18 Soundscapes & FX, 13 Synthetic and 8 Wind.
- Note: Only for use with AAS Chromaphone not with AAS Player.
The Happy Hour: Exotic Cocktails soundset features 100 patches for the Lounge Lizard EP-3 virtual electric piano instrument.
I love electric pianos of all shapes and sizes. Even cheap ones can make me smile. And, while there are some really great sampled Rhodes and Wurlis out there, there’s something about Lounge Lizard that I find makes it much more fun to play. I think it’s because the slight variability in the sound makes you listen closer to what you’re playing, then react and adjust, in a way you wouldn’t do with a more regular and predictable instrument.
As I started tweaking it, I realised that there were quite a few avenues one could go down, far removed from its original purpose. Which led me to Happy Hour!
Happy Hour features
- 100 patches: 10 Chimes, 10 Drums & Perc, 14 FX, 11 Keys (Rhodes), 16 Keys (Specials), 5 Keys (Wurli), 12 Organs, 8 Stringed, 14 Synths.
- Note: Only for use with the full version of AAS Lounge Lizard EP-3 Electric Piano, not with Lounge Lizard Session.
Prism Sticks is available to purchase for £12 GBP; Happy Hour is £7.50 GBP. Future updates (including additional patches) are included in both sets.
