D16 Group has released version 1.1.0 of LuSH-101, a synthesizer instrument plug-in for Windows and Mac.

The update includes eagerly awaited multi-core support, which significantly decreases an overall CPU usage of the plug-in (option requires multi-core CPU). Besides, plug-in’s GUI has been enlarged due to users’ requests giving you better readability and comfortable usage. We’ve also added some minor features and bugfixes.

Blue-Eyed Blond Ape’s Space Lab releases Techno Monkeys’ Invasion for LuSH-101

Techno Monkeys' Invasion for LuSH-101

Blue-Eyed Blond Ape’s Space Lab has launched Techno Monkeys’ Invasion, a soundset for the LuSH-101 software synthesizer by D16 Group.

This soundbank is suitable for electronic music genres like Techno, House, also Hip Hop and various sub-genres where synthesizer noise is welcomed.

All patches have thoughtful mod-wheel assignments, so that a user wouldn’t need to reach out for knobs on a plugin’s interface, some of assignments can completely transform a given sound. It’s highly advisable to abuse a mod-wheel while going through patches in this soundbank.

Sounds are cleverly programmed and considering lush’s appetite are not CPU intensive, no sacrifices were made concerning sound quality. Soundbank includes a pdf with an installation guide and a few tips on how to get the most use of this soundbank.

Techno Monkeys’ Invasion features

  • 162 presets (124 single layer presets / “Timbres”).
  • Includes 54 Bass, 20 Drums, 10 FX, 35 Keys, 4 Kits, 15 Leads, 22 Pads, 2 Seq.

The soundset costs $30 USD.

Rekkerd.org music production contest – A picture is worth a thousand words

Note: the deadline for this contest is extended to December 20th!

In the process of making music I take inspiration from many things. One thing I tend to do a lot is to take a sound or idea and let everything flow from there. Using pictures is a great stimulus to get my creative juices going.

a picture is worth a thousand words

For this contest, the idea is to take a photograph as your “muse” for a piece of music. Kind of similar to how you would write a soundtrack for a film. Use an image of a person, object, environment, or whatever might inspire you. Just make sure to keep it “G-rated” and free of copyright, your image will be part of your contest submission, posted on SoundCloud.

This time around you are free to use any kind of sound source or processing, so aside from the theme there are no limitations. For those who like to use samples, I made a small sample pack (16 loops, 24bit wav) that may serve as an inspiration. You can check the sounds at SoundCloud.

Contest sample pack Download size: 34.8 MB

I’m happy to say we have some great prizes donated by a bunch of generous developers.

D16 Group releases Sigmund flexible delay effect plugin

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Sep 19, 2013 - comment 0 comments

D16 Group has announced the release of Sigmund, an enhanced delay unit for Windows and Mac.

D16 Group Sigmund
D16′s Sigmund high quality flexible delay unit.

Sigmund consists of four delay lines, each with its own, independent set of parameters, offering an incredible degree of sound-shaping freedom. Each of the delay lines has complementary modules built in, independent from the feedback loop; Multi-mode Filter, Overdrive, Amplitude modulator. This all adds up to an immensely powerful architecture, the potential of which can be explored nearly endlessly and with often hardly predictable outcomes.

Sigmund’s four delay lines can be interconnected with each other in practically every manner possible. The plugin offers a choice of nine different routing topologies which give access to completely new dimensions of sound creation.

A signal being routed sequentially through each processing block suffers no loss in quality from one to the next and no undesirable artifacts are added, as is so often the case with some of the more widely used but inferior solutions. The signal path design process that went into Sigmund has been zero- compromise from beginning to end: in fact, the sound quality is so high, the processing so pure that it’s possible to work with even the smallest delay times, even down to one-tenth of one millisecond without any emerging artifacts at all.

Big library of factory presets of every type, while intuitively designed preset browser keeps everything organized and easy to locate.

Sigmund for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for 69 EUR / $89 / £59 GBP (incl. tax if applicable).
