Dark Side of the Tune has released Volca Beast, a free sound library featuring the sounds of the new analog drum machine by Korg.
The Volca Beats was put through multiple gain stages and frequency modulation to create even more depth and range. From quick thumpy sounds for techno and like genres, to beefy Hip-Hop style rhythms, Volca Beast can easily fit into most productions.
All sounds were recorded into analog outboard conservatively, then the Universal Audio Apollo for rock-solid digital stability. These sounds are not normalized, and brought up to about -6 so no digital distortion occurs.
All sounds are offered in 16 and 24 bit resolution, 44.1kHz wave files.
The sample pack is a free download at Dark Side of the Tune’s SoundCloud.

Dark Side of the Tune has launched Sub Phatty Drums, a sound library featuring 43 one-hit samples recorded from Moog Music’s Sub Phatty synthesizer.
The Sub Phatty excels at thickness and warmth, and with the multi-drive and frequency modulation on hand, it takes the classic ladder sound into new territory.
This collection was recorded into a Universal Audio Apollo with Thunderbolt, dry, with no effects, leaving you the raw sound of the synth to compress and smash in your own way.
Sounds are provided in 44.1kHz,16 and 24 bit resolution to accommodate most modern samplers.
Careful thought went into not making this another 808/909 clone library. Don’t we already have enough of those?
The download is free of charge from SoundCloud.

Dark Side of the Tune has announced the release of its FM-Flux free sample library.
Original sounds were created with the Yamaha PSS-470, a Digital FM synthesizer.
To add organic modulation, and expand the stereo field, it was run through a Moogerfooger Cluster Flux flanger and chorus pedal. The results are piercing and lush: Crystalline digital precision combined with the warmth of analog modulation.
All samples are in 44.1kHz 24bit High Quality Audio and not normalized.
The sample pack is a free download from Dark Side of the Tune’s SoundCloud page.

Dark Side of the Tune has announced Dark Filter Drums, a free sample pack.
What happens when you hookup the discontinued Dark Energy 1 synthesizer to the Vermona Filter Lancet? M. A. G. I. C. Dual filtering, FM modulation and distortion, add heft and character to these semi modular units. For white noise and stereo samples the mini brute was used in parallel.
A total of 66, 44kHz 24bit Drum sounds are yours for free!
Follow the link to sound cloud and listen to the demo. The sample library link is in the SoundCloud track description.

Dark Side of the Tune has announced the release of Time Wave Zero, a sample library for Maschine that shatters synthesizer sameness.
As we race toward interconnectedness, the universe eventually reaches a singularity of infinite complexity, at which point everything occurs simultaneously. What if we used the complexity of sound to expand beyond genre-defining vintage instruments, or create new genres altogether?
In a move to redefine electronic music mastery, Dark Side of the Tune released today Time Wave Zero, a 490-sound sample library that moves beyond pre-conception, and resets sound in a futuristic, spontaneous environment.
Modular synthesis techniques evolve the synth aesthetic beyond brand-based character, with many modern analog synthesizer units used in tandem: no virtual or vintage instruments were harmed in the making of Time Wave Zero.
Bucking the trend of static mono samples, the new library includes many multi-samples, as well as stereo samples adding depth and space with analog time-based effects. As a result, most of the sounds are velocity sensitive and playable, similar to an analog instrument.
Time Wave Zero is available to purchase for $29.99 USD.
