Waves introduces Video Sound Suite, effect plugin bundle

Waves Video Sound Suite

Waves has introduced the Video Sound Suite, a new bundle of effect plug-ins for Windows and Mac.

Professional video editors know that first impressions are lasting impressions. With producers and clients focused on every frame, even your rough cuts have to win them over. That means when you hit play, what comes out of your speakers has to be every bit as good as what’s up on the screen.

With the Waves Video Sound Suite of audio plugins, now you can sound as good as you look, quickly and easily. Using the same plugins as the industry’s leading movie and game audio professionals, you can do it all: Reduce noise. Clean up and enhance dialog. Smooth out and maximize volume. Re-create room acoustics and more.

Video Sound Suite integrates seamlessly into Avid Media Composer 5, Apple Soundtrack Pro, and Sony Vegas. Because they’re real-time plugins, it’s no longer necessary to render or create new files for every audio adjustment, and making audio changes weeks or months later is a breeze.

Video Sound Suite includes:

  • Renaissance Compressor – helps keep your volume levels under control, for smoother, more consistent cuts.
  • W43 Noise Reduction Plugin – reduces ambient noise like hiss, hum, traffic, wind, and air conditioning.
  • IR-L Reverb – lets you place sounds in real ambient spaces, add atmosphere, and smooth out tight edits.
  • Q10 Equalizer – lets you enhance frequencies, cut lows & add highs so the voice cuts through, or zoom in and clean up problem areas.
  • DeEsser – tames sibilance, the ‘ess’ and ‘shh’ sounds which can make voices sound harsh and distorted.
  • L1 Limiter – delivers louder, clearer sound to individual sources as well as final mixes.

The Waves Video Sound Suite is available to purchase in native format for $850 USD.

Waves releases C6, Multiband Compressor

Waves C6

Waves has announced the release of C6, a multiband compressor effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

For years, the C4 has been a favorite of studio engineers the world over, and in live sound, it’s quickly become a must-have for front-of-house and monitor professionals as well. To create the C6, we took the tried-and-true functions of the C4, and added two additional floating bands plus a sidechain feature, for one-stop vocal and instrument shaping. Equally at home in the studio, live, and in post production, the C6 lets you zero in on problem frequencies with surgical precision.

Perfect for de-essing and de-popping in the studio or onstage, the C6 gives you all the multiband compression and dynamic equalization you need to control, tame, and shape your sound.

C6 features

  • Internal/external sidechain per band.
  • Individual band Listen mode.
  • Four crossover bands plus two floating bands.
  • Dynamic EQ, compression & expansion.
  • Double precision bit resolution processing.
  • ARC™ Auto Release Control.
  • Up to 24bit, 192kHz resolution.
  • Mono and Stereo components.
  • Supports TDM, RTAS, Audio Suite, VST, AU.
  • PC and Mac compatible.

DyVision Works Reverb Remover

DyVision Works has released Reverb Remover, an reverb removal effect plug-in for Windows.

It can remove reverb from an audio signal, and also has de-essing and background noise reduction capabilities. It is designed to be used as an insert effect on stereo audio signals.

DyVision Reverb Remover is NOT a gate or a transient shaper, but employs an entirely new approach to separate and remove reverb and leave you with a cleaner, ‘dryer’ signal.

Reverb Remover features

  • Remove the reverb from an audio signal.
  • Ideal for treating audio recorded in a less-than-perfect acoustic environment (eg. an echoey project studio or when on location).
  • Unique proprietary algorithms (this is NOT another gate or a transient shaper).
  • Incredibly simple to get the results you want with intuitive and minimalist controls.
  • As a side benefit, Dyvision Reverb Remover also helps to de-ess an audio signal and reduce ambient background noise levels.

DyVision Reverb Remover is available to purchase as a VST effect plug-in for PC, for $49.37 USD. A fully functional demo is available to download from the website (inserts white noise every 30 seconds or so).

Softube releases Valley People Dyna-mite plug-in (+ intro offer)

Softube Valley People Dyna-mite

Softube has released the Valley People Dyna-mite plug-in, a faithful replica of the Valley People Dyna-Mite, a multi-dynamics tool capable of limiting/ compressing, expanding, gating, keying, ducking, de-essing, etc.

In our opinion, the Dyna-mite is just about the coolest dynamics processor there is. The typical use is to squash drums (hard limiting), add some punch to the drums or bass (limiting in AVG mode), or gate drums and get some really punchy effects. You can of course use it for de-essing, ducking, keying, noise gating as well, and you will probably notice that once you get your head around it, you’ll be able to use it on just about anything!

Valley People Dyna-mite Plug-In features

  • Limiting: Peak and average limiting, incl. negative ratio (-20:1) limiting and detector HF filtering (for De-Essing purposes).
  • Expanding: Hard or soft with extreme gate settings and detector HF filtering.
  • Ducking or Keying modes with external side chain (where available).
  • Threshold knob with auto make-up gain.
  • Release ranging from 0.05 to 5 sec/20 dB with Anticipatory Release Computation (ARC) to reduce pumping.
  • Output volume with accurately modeled output distortion and clip LED.
  • Innovative Range knob that controls maximum amount of expansion or limiting.
  • Built-in interactive guide that displays current settings and active mode.

The Softube Valley People Dyna-mite plug-in is available to purchase for PC and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) at the introductory price of $229 USD until the end of May (regular price $279 USD).
