D16 Group releases Sigmund flexible delay effect plugin

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Sep 19, 2013 - comment 0 comments

D16 Group has announced the release of Sigmund, an enhanced delay unit for Windows and Mac.

D16 Group Sigmund
D16′s Sigmund high quality flexible delay unit.

Sigmund consists of four delay lines, each with its own, independent set of parameters, offering an incredible degree of sound-shaping freedom. Each of the delay lines has complementary modules built in, independent from the feedback loop; Multi-mode Filter, Overdrive, Amplitude modulator. This all adds up to an immensely powerful architecture, the potential of which can be explored nearly endlessly and with often hardly predictable outcomes.

Sigmund’s four delay lines can be interconnected with each other in practically every manner possible. The plugin offers a choice of nine different routing topologies which give access to completely new dimensions of sound creation.

A signal being routed sequentially through each processing block suffers no loss in quality from one to the next and no undesirable artifacts are added, as is so often the case with some of the more widely used but inferior solutions. The signal path design process that went into Sigmund has been zero- compromise from beginning to end: in fact, the sound quality is so high, the processing so pure that it’s possible to work with even the smallest delay times, even down to one-tenth of one millisecond without any emerging artifacts at all.

Big library of factory presets of every type, while intuitively designed preset browser keeps everything organized and easy to locate.

Sigmund for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for 69 EUR / $89 / £59 GBP (incl. tax if applicable).

Audio Damage launches DubJr, Grainshift & Errorbox Eurorack modules

Audio Damage DubJr

Audio Damage has announced the release of DubJr, Grainshift and Errorbox, three Eurorack modules.

After two years of R&D (a sentence fragment that in no way conveys the experience we’ve just been through), and coincidentally during the week of Audio Damage’s tenth anniversary, we have succeeded in releasing a hardware platform for our DSP effects, and are ludicrously proud to unveil the first three Audio Damage hardware products: DubJr, Grainshift, and Errorbox.

Audio Damage Eurorack modules

  • ADM01 DubJr is the delay from Dubstation, in a pint-sized Eurorack modular format, for your knob-twisting pleasure.
  • ADM02 Grainshift is a real-time granular pitch-shifter and chaos effect for the Eurorack modular format. From simple smooth micro-tuned pitch shifting and chorus effects on up to full metal granular chaos, Grainshift is a versatile module, easy to use and fun to have.
  • ADM03 Errorbox is just like any other tool-kit utility module, except that in this tool-kit, all the tools are chainsaws and rabid badgers. Includes a sample rate reducer, bit rate reducer, and ERR algorithm (as found in the Kombinat Dva plug-in).

The modules are available to purchase via Audio Damage’s retail partners for $179 USD each (currently exclusively at Analogue Haven).

XILS-lab has announce availability of version 1.5 of Chor’X, a bucket brigade delay chorus plug-in for Windows and Mac.

This major update, adds a 4th Chorus algorithm to the Dimension-D, Synthex, and CS-80 ones, as well as some refined versions of these 3 existing modules.

A totally revamped interface that will greatly enhances your workflow has also been added, offering you to switch between the Easy/Legacy Mode (default) and the Advanced-Complex-Deep Mode, without loosing anything of the richness and in depth programming possibilities of the former version !

Changes in Chor’X v1.5

  • The Legacy Mode
    • The Chor’X 1.5 Graphic Interface has been totally revamped to offer you a Legacy Mode. It’s very easy to get the exact sound of the 4 legendary units we have modeled, without having to do anything and change complex parameters.
    • Be prepared to experience new Dimension, Synthex, CS-80 like textures without effort.
    • A new “VP-330″ algorithm, finely emulated from the real hardware, is now available in Chor’X 1.5.
  • The Advanced Mode
    • Chor’X 1.0 brought you wide and wild sound shaping. You won’t loose anything with Chor’X 1.5: The same internal parameters of these legendary units are still exposed in the same way as they were in version 1.0. But this time, only if you want it or need it!
    • Project and presets are fully backward compatible.
  • The Stereo Space Engine
    • The True Stereo Dynamic Engine allows you to build spectacular, complex and intrigating stereo scenes, with real time aimations. Some people only use this module on entires mixes.
    • Now, for those who wants to keep the exact legacy sound of their preferred algorithm, it is easy to by-pass the stereoizer.
  • Fixes
    • Windows 7/8: the graphic Interface is now smooth and fast.
    • Windows 7 32 bits: authorization correctly completed.
    • Installers (mac and windows): Possibility to select which plug-in format must be installed.
    • Preset Browser: Randomly, not all the presets were displayed. This is fixed with the 1.5 version.
    • Preset Browser: A dry/wet lock function allows to browse without changing the dry/wet level (Advanced mode only).

In celebration of the 1.5 update, Chor’X for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) is available to purchase for 39 EUR until October 15th, 2013 (regular 59 EUR).

Sunsine Audio releases Effectus for Audulus

Sunsine Audio Effectus

Sunsine Audio has released Effectus, a collection of 4 stereo effects for Audulus.

Effectus contains 4 stereo effects ready for standalone or Audiobus use.

Effectus features

  • Shifter – Shifter contains a pitch shift section as well as a ring mod section. Both can be used independently or mixed together as well as mixed with the original signal. This is the free demo instrument.
  • Binary (Chop) and Binary (Ring) – Binary is an amplitude modulator or gate device, and comes in two flavors. Binary (Chop) allows exploration of slower speed stereo gating effects while Binary (Ring) brings the amplitude modulation into the audio range, producing ring modulation effects with a different tone than the “traditional” ring modulation in Shifter produces.
  • Mothra – Mothra is a sequenced and filtered reverb. Each input is individually fed through a network of distortion devices, simple low pass filters, and reverbs which are then delivered to a 16 step sequencer providing strange stereo and resonant spaces which can be “stepped” through.
  • Time Gap – Time Gap is a filtered stereo delay with cross feed between the left and right channels. A simple high pass filter is followed by three delay units with two resonant low pass filters placed between them, delays can be cross fed at two points in the signal chain.

Effectus for Audulus costs $3.99 USD.
