Positive Grid updates BIAS to v1.1 – ToneCloud custom amp sharing platform launched

Positive Grid ToneCloud for BIAS

Positive Grid has released version 1.1.0 of BIAS, introducing the ToneCloud sharing platform that allows BIAS users to interact with each other and share their custom amps.

The recently released BIAS (#1 paid music app in 118 countries) brought a whole new level of tone customization to guitar and bass players through a game changing, intuitive amp modeling and designer app. Today, Positive Grid added an new feature to raise the bar again: ToneCloud – the world’s first custom amp sharing platform.

“ToneCloud is an amp sharing platform with all the amp models you can imagine,” notes Jaime Ruchman, Marketing Manager at Positive Grid. “The ToneShare in JamUp allows musicians to create, share, and download user and artist presets. With ToneCloud, musicians can now explore and get inspired by the whole world’s custom amp models in just seconds. The possibilities are infinite.”

ToneCloud is a sharing platform that allows BIAS users to interact with each other and share their custom amps right inside BIAS. Users can now explore popular and latest custom amp models, and can further search by music genres or keywords. Also, sharing is more intuitive than ever: an upload button is always visible in BIAS no matter in what stage of the amp creation process, this makes sharing much easier and faster.

With ToneCloud, BIAS users will be part of a tone community with social utilities that allow them not only to create and share custom amps, but also interact with other musicians. With ToneCloud, BIAS will deliver much more than 36 amp models: it has the whole world of tone, on the cloud.

Justus Kandzi releases Brute LFO app for iOS

Justus Kandzi Brute LFO

Justus Kandzi has announced the Brute LFO, a powerful low frequency oscillator that modulates your analog gear.

If you have a hardware synth that allows you to use external gear to modulate the pitch, the filter, or any other parameter, just plug the Brute LFO into the CV in and start playing.

It consists of three separate LFOs. LFO 1 and 2 can be controlled using the control elements in the top half of the screen. The big knob in he middle sets the rate of both the LFOs. Additionally you can change the waveforms of the LFOs, detune LFO 2 and change its phase. The amount knob in the top half also sets the overall amount of the modulation.
The elements on the bottom half (LFO 3) can be used to modulate the frequency of LFO 1 and 2.
And the brute switch destroys everything!

Bruto LFO for iOS is available to purchase for $3.99 USD.

AfroDJMac releases Easy Multi Band FX free Live Pack

Related: , , , Posted in news on Dec 10, 2013 - comment 2 comments

AfroDJMac has launched Easy Multi Band FX, a free Ableton Live Pack.

When you start running your sounds through effects, you run the risk of killing some of the important frequencies within that sound. The most obvious example is on bass sounds. A lot of times I add distortions or reverbs on a bass and the sound either loses its low-end or becomes muddy. If only there was a way to put my distortion on the higher frequencies and leave the bass frequencies alone so they can stay powerful…

Of course there is a way! This technique, commonly referred to as “multi-band processing”, allows you to split up the different frequencies of your sound (in our case Highs, Mids, and Lows) and affect each one separately. So I’ve created a Free Ableton Live Rack that divides your sounds into three sections, Low, Mid and High (you can adjust what the frequency range of each section) and allows you to place effects on each band separately.

The Easy Multi Band FX Pack is a free download at AfroDJMac.

Boscomac Delight Delay
The Delight Delay effect for Native Instruments Reaktor.

DELIGHT DELAY is a pattern-based delay controlled by a sequencer.

A central display allows you to set the level and filtering rehearsals and so draw a pattern. You can set the number of repetitions (1 to 15) determine the tempo (1/4 to 1/32), adjust the stereo (mono or pingpong) and adjust the blend.

Very easy to use, this delay grooves with guitars, runs with synths, installs synchronized vibes and many other things …

The ensemble is a free download for Reaktor (requires full version). Donations are appreciated.
