Eventide releases UltraChannel Native Channel Strip (free for limited time)

Related: , , , , , , Posted in news on Jun 10, 2014 - comment 0 comments

Eventide has announced the release of UltraChannel, a native channel strip effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Eventide UltraChannel

UltraChannel™ is Eventide’s new 64-bit native channel strip plug-in for AU, VST, and AAX64 for Mac and PC featuring micro pitch functionality from our flagship H8000, stereo delays with variable feedback paths, plus two stages of compression, gating, and five bands of parametric EQ. UltraChannel is available as a free download through midnight July 8, 2014, after which it will cost $249.

UltraChannel features a pair of dynamics processors: the O-Pressor™, capable of extreme compression (this is the compressor section of the Omnipressor®) and a conventional compressor with de-essing and side-chain capability.

UltraChannel™ also offers Soft-Saturation, and Transformer emulation which recreates transformer core saturation. This feature adds harmonics to low frequency material while remaining relatively transparent to the rest of signal. While relatively subtle, in aggregate, Transformer can bring life to otherwise dull mixes and help glue disparate sound sources together.

FlexiPath™ routing allows drag and drop for reordering the signal path of the top level components (O-Pressor, compressor/de-esser, EQ, Gate).

UltraChannel includes a variety of factory presets tailored to signal sources such as guitar, bass, kick drum, snare, piano, strings, synths and vocals. A number of the presets were created by Eventide artists.

UltraChannel is free to download until July 8th, 2014 (regular $249 USD). Use coupon 0F736710 at checkout. Note: iLok License Manager and an ilok.com account are required (iLok dongle *not* required).

Eventide launches DDL-500 digital delay

Eventide DDL-500

Eventide has released the DDL-500, a new digital delay for the 500 series racks.

The DDL-500 features 10 seconds of pristine delay at a 192 kHz sample rate and a unique design that strictly limits the amount of digital circuitry to the bare minimum. Soft saturation clipping, low pass filter, feedback, insert loop, relay bypass, and +20 dB boost are all analog.

“500 series is, by and large, analog and we thought long and hard about introducing a digital product to that world. Our mantra was “as analog as possible,’ said RM.

“The DDL-500s digital circuitry was kept to a minimum – just the chips necessary for delay. All of the other sound-shaping features are implemented in the analog domain. The design goal was to create a digital delay with an analog soul.”

Eventide has announced the H9 Harmonizer, the newest addition to its stompbox line.

The H9 delivers Eventide’s acclaimed sound and can run all of Eventide’s stompbox effects. It features a simple, one-knob user interface and also connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to iPods, iPhones and iPads for creating and managing presets, live control and in-app algorithm purchases.

Eventide H9 Harmonizer

“The H9 is designed to pack all that you need by way of delay, modulation, pitch, and reverb effects, along with a fast, accurate tuner, in a small footprint. We’ve also created a feature-rich remote control app, H9 Control, for controlling the H9 from an iPhone or iPad, wirelessly via Bluetooth or tethered to your PC or Mac via USB,” said Ray Maxwell, Eventide’s VP of Sales and Marketing. “As always, our prime directive is to deliver the Eventide sound that our users have come to rely on. Never before has that sound been packed into such a small package,” he added.

The H9 comes bundled with a set of the most popular algorithms taken from Eventide’s stompboxes: Liquid Chorus, Organic Chorus, Shimmer Chorus, Classic Chorus, Phase XO Chorus, Bias Tremolo, and Opto Tremolo from ModFactor; H910, H949, and Crystals™ from PitchFactor; Tape Echo and Vintage Delay from TimeFactor; and Hall and Shimmer from Space. The standard bundle also includes the first in a series of new H9-specific algorithms, UltraTap Delay™.

All of Eventide’s stompbox algorithms and their associated presets are available for in-app purchase.

While the H9 is fully controllable via its front panel, a free iOS app, H9 Control, can be downloaded to your iPhone or iPad for live editing, creating and managing presets and changing system settings wirelessly via Bluetooth. H9 Control can also be downloaded to your PC or Mac and connected via USB.

The H9 features stereo audio I/O, MIDI I/O and Expression Pedal and Auxiliary Switch inputs.

The H9 will be available in March of 2013 through authorized Eventide stompbox dealers.

Eventide releases Blackhole reverb plugin

Related: , , , , , , Posted in news on May 10, 2012 - comment 1 comment

Eventide has released Blackhole, a native reverb effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Eventide Blackhole
Eventide Blackhole – reverberation from Space stompbox goes native.

Blackhole is a massive reverberator that has evolved over the years by pulling in mass quantities of time and energy (of the development persuasion, of course). In its earliest incarnation – first in the DSP4000 and later in the H8000 flagship processors – it was regarded, by some, as a secret weapon. Recently it was tuned, expanded and enhanced and then unleashed in the Eventide Space stompbox. Now, it’s available as a Native plug-in.

Blackhole may not be your first choice to simulate an enclosure on the surface of the earth but, if you’re at all interested in ‘sculpting sound’, Blackhole just might pull you in. From our vantage point, its possibilities appear to be endless but, of course, we can’t see beyond its event horizon.

Blackhole for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/AAX) is available to purchase for the introductory price of $99 USD (regular $199 USD). A crossgrade is available to owners of the Space stompbox for the intro price of $49 USD (regular $99 USD). Note: Blackhole requires iLok2.
