LSR Audio has announced the release of it intuitive compressor/expander plugin DynamicsDetail and SK_Dynamics, a new “Single Knob Series” dynamics effect plug-in.

DynamicsDetail measures two RMS levels with different averaging speeds. It compares the fast level with the slower one to detect attack and decay phases. Maximum compression (low attack and high sustain) tends to keep the output level close to the average level of the input sound.

SK_Dynamics is based on the algorithms of the DynamicsDetail plugin, and allows you to reduce or increase the dynamic range of your tracks with only one knob. The output level is automatically compensated according to the chosen compression level.

Mildon Studios has released SLVR Spreader, a stereo expander effect plug-in for Windows.

SLVR Spreader is a state-of-the-art stereo widener suitable for mixing and mastering. It combines different stereo imaging technologies, letting you apply ample amounts of widening without weakening the overall sound.

Use it on individual tracks like vocals and on group tracks like drums, all the way to the final master.

SLVR Spreader features

• Three powerful modes:
  • Wide mode uses a mid-side algorithm for widening the signal. This is suitable for stereo recordings, group tracks, and mastering.
  • Delay mode spreads the signal’s frequencies across the stereo image and applies minute amounts of delay to emphasize the stereo effect. This can be used to fatten ambient sounds like vocals and pads.
  • Shuffle mode interleaves the signal’s frequencies and spreads them across the stereo image. While the stereo effect is less pronounced in this mode, it can help the signal cut-through a busy mix without introducing artifacts or phase issues.
• 3 Channel Meters: separate meters for Left, Center, and Right channels, allowing you to apply just the right amount of widening to the signal. For best results, increase the Spread fader until the Center peak is at the same level as or just above the Left and Right peaks.

Metric Halo has announced the release of the Production Bundle for AAX at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt (Audiologistik booth – Hall 5.1, Stand A85).

The software will be available starting on 3/26/12 and consists of seven AAX plug-ins compatible with both Native and HDX DSP systems: ChannelStrip 3, Character, Haloverb, Multiband Dynamics, Multiband Expander, Precision DeEsser, and TransientControl.

Metric Halo Production Bundle for AAX

This bundle provides the all the tools necessary to sculpt a mix. Four of the plug-ins contain audio analysis tools from SpectraFoo, giving the user visual feedback of the plug-in’s processing. “We’re thrilled to release the Metric Halo Production Bundle for Pro Tools 10,” said Allen Rowand of Metric Halo. “We wanted to do more than simply port our existing ChannelStrip plug-in to the AAX format. Voxengo has updated its Drumformer multiband drum and master track dynamics processing plug-in for Windows and Mac to v1.2.

Drumformer can operate in broadband, 2-band and 3-band modes, with each band having compressor-expander and saturation modules. The sound of the compressor can be defined as “gluey with a ping”, because it instantly creates a “tight and glued together” sound while masterfully emphasizing the transients. The saturation module offers you a choice between six saturation modes, each having a smooth sound and differing harmonic content.

DMG Audio has released updates of its EQuality, Compassion and EQuick effect plugins for Windows and Mac.
