Expert Sleepers ES-2-2

Expert Sleepers has announced the release of the ES-2-2, a new CV/audio interface in Eurorack format.

The ES-2-2 is a Eurorack-format synthesizer module designed for use with software such as Expert Sleepers Silent Way. It takes as inputs CVs from an analogue synth/effect unit on 3.5mm jacks, and outputs audio signals on 1/4″ jacks for connection to a computer audio interface. The Silent Way CV Input plug-in is then used to interpret the audio signal and output CVs to the DAW for recording, processing etc.

The ES-2-2 is available immediately from Expert Sleepers, priced at £59 GBP +VAT (including delivery). US distribution is handled exclusively by Analogue Haven, who will have stock of the ES-2-2 very soon.

Expert Sleepers Silent Way

Expert Sleepers has released version 1.6.4 of Silent Way, a suite of plug-ins for use with modular analog synthesizers.

The plug-ins produce no sound themselves, nor do they process sound – rather, they generate signals to be used as control voltages (CVs), which can be patched into the control inputs of oscillators, filters, VCAs etc. of an analogue system. Also, with the addition of the CV Input plug-in, it is possible to bring CVs from the synth into the computer, for recording or processing.

Changes in Silent Way v1.6.4

  • Support for the Expert Sleepers ES-2-2 module to the Silent Way CV Input plug-in.
  • 6 channel variant of the Silent Way AC Encoder VST plug-in added, for convenience of use in Cubase where a 6 channel bus is being used for the Silent Way Voice Controller plug-in.

Silent Way is available to purchase for PC and Mac (VST/AU) for $49 USD, plus VAT if applicable.

Expert Sleepers updates Spectral Conquest to v1.0.1

Expert Sleepers Spectral Conquest

Expert Sleepers has released version 1.0.1 of Spectral Conquest, an effect plug-in that lets you directly manipulate the frequency spectrum of audio signals.

The incoming signal is analysed via a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), resulting in the familiar spectrum plot where the full audio spectrum is split into a number of narrow frequency bands. The outgoing audio is then regenerated by an Inverse FFT. The interesting bit is that the plug-in lets you modify the frequency spectrum in between.

Changes in Spectral Conquest v1.0.1

  • Improvements to the interactive painting of dense spectral data.
  • (VST versions) Fixed issues with slow GUI updates when running scripts or painting spectral data.

Spectral Conquest is available to purchase as an effect plug-in for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) for $29 USD. The plug-in is also available as part of the Ultimate Bundle for $155 USD, and the Creative Effects Bundle for $55 USD.

Expert Sleepers has released Spectral Conquest, an effect plug-in that lets you directly manipulate the frequency spectrum of audio signals.

The outgoing audio is then regenerated by an Inverse FFT. The interesting bit is that the plug-in lets you modify the frequency spectrum in between.

Spectral Conquest allows you to modify the spectrum in two ways:

  • By setting a multiplier for each frequency band. You can simply draw out the multipliers in the GUI.
  • By applying a script to the spectrum. Some basic scripts are included with the plug-in to perform operations such as filtering and gating, but you can also write scripts yourself to do whatever you like.

Spectral Conquest is available to purchase as an effect plug-in for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) for $29 USD. The plug-in is also available as part of the Ultimate Bundle for $155 USD, and the Creative Effects Bundle for $55 USD.

A demo version can be downloaded from the Expert Sleepers website. It is fully functional, except that it will time-out after 15 minutes of use. Simply reloading the plug-in resets the time-out.
