Puremagnetik has announced Phonik, a sound library that brings the celebrated Roland Paraphonic-505 right to your desktop.

The Synth section has four waveforms and the Bass section has three preset bass sound types to choose from. The String section has two selectable String preset sounds. Puremagnetik has captured all three Ensemble modes of the original for each voice!

Sounds from the three tone sections can be blended for interesting results and the built-in Ensemble chorusing effect really warms, thickens and lushes up the sounds! SampleTekk has announced the release of Virginal, a sample library for Kontakt, EXS24, HALion, and NN-XT.

A virginal is a smaller and simpler rectangular form of the harpsichord with only one string per note running more or less parallel to the keyboard on the long side of the case.

The heyday of the virginals was the latter half of the 16th century to the later 17th century until the high baroque period.

Wavesfactory has announced the release of its StrumGTR Vol. II. Acoustic sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt and Logic EXS24.

After the great success of the first volume of the StrumGTR collection (StrumGTR Electric) we sampled real strummed major and minor chords of an acoustic guitar (upstroke and downstroke) recorded in stereo.

It’s been sampled the way real guitarists play. What does that mean? It means that when a guitarist strums softer, he/she doesn’t strum all the strings, only the first ones depending if he upstrokes or downstrokes, that’s why this instrument sounds so real.

Binary Music has announced that its sample packs are now available in Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro EXS24 formats.

Binary Music announces the release of ARP Odyssey, TX81Z and Solina String Ensemble sample libraries for Ableton Live. ARP Odyssey and TX81Z sample libraries for Apple Logic Pro EXS24.

These new libraries are based on the same 24 bit sample sets as the Kontakt versions and contain the same number of samples and patches. The Ableton Live versions are packaged as Live Packs and make full use of Macro controls.

All future products will be released for Kontakt, Live and EXS24 from day one.

The sample libraries are available to purchase for £10 each (plus VAT for EU customers).

Wavesfactory has announced the release of its Body Percussion sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt and Logic EXS24.

Stomps, claps, hits (chest, thigh, abdomen), claps and snaps recorded in a big theatre with natural reverb.

Body Percussion is played solo and ensemble (3 players at a time) with 6 round robin(repetitions) and 6 velocity layers.

It can be very versatile, only claps are versatile themself (pop, rock, retro, flamenco…), but Body Percussion comes with 10 articulations:

• Stomps.
• Heels.
• Stomp (front).
• Thigh.
• Abdomen.
• Chest (fist).
• Chest (open hand).
• Claps.
• Finger claps.
• Snaps.

We’ve mapped it in a way that is very playable, every articulation has 2 keys assigned in order to play it with both hands, it’s very intuitive playing it that way. As you can see, it is mapped from low bass sounds to higher ones.
