G-Sonique has announced the release of Audio Control AC1, a mix and mastering sound control surface plug-in for Windows.
When you are finalizing your mixes you surely need to know how sounds your bass separately, if there are not some unwanted signals in bass spectrum, if high frequency range is clean, if mid range do not sounds distorted. If you hear your mix in full frequency range it is often not easy or possible.
You often need to check stereofield, if there is not too much stereo or mono signal. If stereo signal do not have lot of bass freq. or mono signal do not have distortion etc.
Next thing you often control are dynamics and transients, you need to know if there is enough of dynamic range, if transients are not smashed or if they are not very sharp or distorted.
You often need to hear left and right channel separated or phase inverted. With conventional methods it is possible but very slow and annoying to check these things.
With new Audio control console AC1 you can do all mentioned operations within one CLICK! Additionally you can check frequency spectrum on linear FFT Display, you can alo set frequency ranges which should be monitored as well as set dynamic range spectrum of monitored transients.
You can do also own useful combinations by clicking buttons, for example: listen to transients only in treble spectrum, filter bass spectrum and analyze if bass is in stereo (side) part, compare how many transients are included in mono and side/stereo part of record and much more.
The plug-in is available for purchase for the introductory price of 14.90 EUR for the first 100 customers (regular 22.90 EUR).

ADSR Sounds has released FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) with Reaktor, a video tutorial course that shows you how to manipulate sound like never before.
Learn how to use fast fourier transform (FFT) with Reaktor. This six-part course teaches you everything from the basics of FFT and how to analyze audio components; through to how to make and use several different effects including a spectral delay, a spectral freeze and a time-stretch effect.
Included in the course materials are 5 example ensembles that provide a practical base for you to follow along and experiment as you discover the might of FFT modules.
The course is available for purchase for $19 USD.

Little Endian has released version 2.9.4 of SpectrumWorx, a sound mangling plug-in for Windows and Mac.
SpectrumWorx is a modular effect processor that works exclusively in the frequency domain. Two things make SpectrumWorx vastly different from other effects processors:
– Ability to manipulate the frequency domain, and
Changes in SpectrumWorx v2.9.4
- “User’s guide” button in the About page.
- New image for LFO controlled knobs when automatic knob updating is turned off.
- Undo/redo and VST program changing behaviour and performance (YMMV depending on the host).
- Minor phase vocoder phase coherence improvement in certain edge cases.
- Minor overall performance improvements.
- VST: dynamic automated parameter list functionality (YMMV depending on the host – works nicely with the latest Reaper).
- LFOs for shared module parameters not getting updated with tempo or time signature changes.
- Frequency range control:
- Control name not displayed.
- Wrong control name displayed (Start instead of Stop and vice verse).
- Rare crashes while manually operating the control.
- Crashes when parsing licences with non-ASCII or “special” characters.
- (PVD) PitchMagnet target frequency parameter unnecessarily quantized (again).
- Broken Ableton Live undo history (partially fixed – still works properly only for “configured” parameters).
- Appearance on scaled and/or “high DPI” displays.
- Automation of power-of-two parameters (e.g. DFT size and overlap factor).
- Host-initiated channel count changes.
- Validation failure in 32-bit mode under OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
- Random crashes.
- Mono output under Ableton Live.
- OS X 32-bit: auxiliary windows not following the main window.
SpectrumWorx is available to purchase for $119 USD for a single format, or $149 USD for the bundle of formats.

Voxengo has released version 2.7 of SPAN, a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer effect plugin for Windows and Mac.
For the most part SPAN was derived from Voxengo GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer and reproduces its spectrum analysis functionality.
SPAN provides you with a very flexible “mode” system which you can use to setup your spectrum analyzer preferences. You may specify Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, spectrum’s visual slope. Beside that you can choose to display secondary spectrum of a desired type (e.g. real-time maximum, all-time maximum). Spectrum can be smoothed out visually for an easier examination.
Changes in SPAN v2.7
- Increased “smoothed” graph drawing precision.
- Fixed crash when 1/12 octave smoothing is enabled.
- Increased overall spectrum drawing precision.
SPAN is available to download as a freeware plug-in for Windows and Mac (VST/AU).
