Elektron updates Analog Four & Keys OS to v1.1

Elektron OS 1.1 Analog Four/Keys

Elektron has launched OS version 1.1 for the Analog Four, and the first OS for the new Analog Keys synthesizer.

Analog Four was recently voted Hardware of the Year by the readers of Future Music, and now Swedish instrument maker Elektron is releasing a powerful new OS, making the analog tabletop synthesizer even better.

Analog Four OS 1.1 introduces polyphony, resonance boost, and MIDI multi map. Oh yeah, it also unlocks the pre-installed +Drive of all units.

Changes in Analog Four OS 1.1

  • Polyphony – Fully customizable voice allocation. With the upgrade, the Analog Four can be used as a polyphonic four voice synthesizer, as four separate monophonic synthesizers, in four note unison with user defined pitch spread between the voices, or anything in between. Get ready for lush chords, huge mono sounds and multitimbral magic!
  • Resonance Boost – The resonance boost turns the Analog Four into a screaming beast. The feature is especially useful for creating deep kicks and powerful bass sounds. The resonance boost provides the sound palette with new colors.
  • +Drive – The +Drive non-volatile memory increases the amount of storage space by two orders of magnitude. Thanks to the +Drive, Analog Four users can now enjoy working with up to 128 projects. Each project contains up to 128 patterns, 128 kits, 16 songs, 4 globals, and 128 sound pool Sounds. The machine you know and love just got multiplied by a factor of 128. Furthermore, every project has access to the +Drive Sound library, capable of storing 4096 Sounds. The Sounds are taggable for ease of use and identification. After activating the +Drive, 512 factory preset Sounds are instantly available.
  • Multi Map Edit – Lets you freely assign functionality to any of the keys on an external MIDI keyboard controlling the Analog Four. Multi map allows custom mapped sounds, pattern trigging and trigging of external MIDI units. Also, full analog drum kits, bass lines, and lead sounds can be played simultaneously. Record multi map trigs with the sequencer.

The firmware update is now available to download from Elektron.

Cableguys launch FilterShaper 3 public beta + 30% off pre-order

Cableguys has announced a public beta of FilterShaper 3, a filter, volume and pan modulation effect with an improved irresistible waveform editor, growing sound library and slick interface.

Cableguys FilterShaper 3
Cableguys FilterShaper 3 (preliminary GUI).

For advanced, multi-band sidechain compression. For in-depth editing. For subtle variations of sound. For filter sweeps and filter drops. For chopping beats or trance-gating synths. For any, most advanced filter, volume or pan modulations.

2 filters. 60 LFOs, 50 envelope followers: You’ll have enormous modulation power at your fingertips. Even LFO amount and LFO speed can be modulated. LFOs can be MIDI-triggered, beat-synced or free-running, from very slow up to the audible range.

New Sallen-Key type filters (with filter drive) provide a sonically rich, fat resonant sound.

FilterShaper’s knobs display all modulations in real-time; oscilloscopes show you the incoming and processed audio signal; a big, enlargeable waveform editor allows in-depth editing with a huge, precise oscilloscope.

FilterShaper 3 allows precise editing when needed, and sonic mayhem when wanted.

A shared online preset library gets you started, pre-filled with patches from our preset designers for (multi-band) sidechain compression, giant wobbles, evolving subtle variations and chopped beats.

The FilterShaper 3 public beta is available to download for Windows and Mac (32/64-bit, VST/AU).

FilterShaper 3 will cost 69 EUR/$89 USD. The plugin can be pre-order by purchasing FilterShaper 2 at 49 EUR/$69 USD or the Cableguys Bundle (currently 20% off), both of which will include a free upgrade to FilterShaper 3 upon its release.

u-he updates Diva to v1.3 incl. Uhbie filter, Digital Osc & Arp

Related: , , , , , , , , , , Posted in news on Dec 09, 2013 - comment 0 comments

u-he has announced the release of version 1.3 of its Diva virtual analog synthesizer plug-in for Windows and Mac.

u-he Diva
u-he DIVA – Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue Synthesizer.

This free update expands Diva’s sonic palette with the most requested modules since Diva’s introduction two years ago:

  • The Uhbie, a filter modeled after a famous analogue multimode VCF. Our take on this morphs from lowpass to highpass via your choice of notch or bandpass.
  • The Digital Osc, a dual oscillator with a flexible feature set reminiscent of the synthesizer that started the hardware VA revolution in the 90ies. Not only have we covered its typical waveforms such as the original Super Saw, Feedback and TriangleMod, we even gave both oscillators the full feature set! (we also sneaked in a high quality mode with less aliasing)
  • An Arpeggiator! – Not to be mistaken with the recent crop of sequencers that also arpeggiate, this one pays tribute to good old analogue style arpeggiators, including some of the lesser known modes such as the “Leap” mode found in rare monophonic synths.

Other changes in Diva v1.3

  • 60 new factory presets using the new modules.
  • AAX support for Pro Tools 10/11!
  • Vastly accelerated GUI opening.
  • Many little niggles fixed.

Diva for Windows and Mac is available to purchase for $179 USD (excl. VAT).
