Lexicon PCM Native Effect Plug-In Bundle, PCM96 effects in a plug-in

Lexicon PCM Native Effect Plug-In Bundle - Resonant Chords

Lexicon has announced the PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle, software package featuring the sounds of the PCM96 in a plug-in.

In a move that brings the sounds of its PCM96 Stereo Reverb/Effects Processor to more users than ever before, Lexicon today announced the introduction of its PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle. The new software package makes all the effects processing of Lexicon’s acclaimed PCM96 available as a plug-in that adds a wealth of inspirational new sounds to a user’s DAW that are not available anywhere else.

The PC- and Macintosh®-compatible PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle is designed to work with popular DAWs like Pro Tools and Logic, as well as with any other VST, Audio Unit or RTAS-compatible host.

PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle

  • Dual Delay – The PCM provides a comprehensive palette of delay effects, such as slap-back echo, tape echo and much more – all with complete control over delay time, mix, repeat and other parameters.
  • Random Delay – Builds upon the capabilities of Dual Delay with more voices and four LFOs (Low Frequency Oscillators) that control delay time with both familiar waveforms as well as random values and input levels.
  • Chorus/Flange – The available chorus, flanger and long multivoice delay enable everything from traditional flanger sounds to flangers that play far behind the beat for out-of-this-world effects.
  • Resonant Chords – This unique mode, first introduced in the Lexicon PCM70, allows multiple delay voices to be tuned to resonate on specific notes. The sonic result can be glistening chords, strange ringing delays or truly bizarre room sounds.
  • Pitch Shift – A multitude of mono and stereo pitch-shifting capabilities are available, from pitch correction in a mix to standout special effects.
  • Multivoice Pitch Shift – This is a multivoice delay algorithm with an independent pitch shifter on each voice. It can function as anything from a voice thickener, to multiple delays that can shift up or down while locked to tempo, to a “Seasick Room” preset that must be heard to be believed.

The PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle adds to these effects an all-new Stringbox algorithm, which provides the user with 88 virtual strings resonating according to the audio in. Several tuning and panning options are available, along with a virtual keyboard and randomizer, giving users the ability to create never-before-heard chords, melodies and room sounds.

The Lexicon PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle is Native only, and requires iLok authorization. It will be available in Jan 2011 at a suggested retail price of $1199.95 USD.

MeldaProduction updates MTotalBundle to v2.09 (new MMultiBandChorus, MMultiBandDistortion and MMultiBandTransient)

MeldaProduction MMultiBandTransient

MeldaProduction has updated all its effect plug-ins.

We have added several nasty features, fixed some more problems, mostly with Mac OS and Windows 64, optimized several features. And released 3 more great plugins: MMultiBandChorus, MMultiBandDistortion, MMultiBandTransient.

All of them are free for MTotalBundle owners as usual. The first 2 have also been added to MCreativeBundle owners and the last one to MMasteringBundle. The update is available via update manager, update installer and newest installer for Windows users. Mac OS users have to use the newest installer.

Also note the last 2 weeks of April discount (-50% for all bundles and -25% for all effects) after which the price of bundles will be increased due to the many added plugins.

Changes in MTotalBundle v2.09

  • Added MMultiBandChorus, MMultiBandDistortion and MMultiBandTransient plugins.
  • Added LR/MS/L/R/M/S/LR-/surround processing – almost all plugins can now process stereo-mono, just left, just stereo and other combinations instead of left-right channels.
  • Added random move feature – when you hold ctrl and press “Random” button, no new random settings are generated, but the current configuration is slightly modified. This is useful to tweak already interesting settings.
  • Clumsy configuration menu replaced by a configuration window.
  • Added super-smoothing for dynamics, which minimizes artifacts even for extremely small attack times.
  • Graphical improvements in equalizers.
  • Added help for equalizer band editors.
  • Improved performance when modulators are disabled.
  • Added “through-null” mode into flangers.
  • Added tremolo phase into vibrato.
  • Irrelevant parameters are not disabled in certain modes.
  • Fixed several compatibility issues, especially on Mac OS X (Digital Performer) and Windows 64 (Cubase 5).
  • Fix: Cancel in submit preset did send the preset anyway.
  • Fix: Multiband link did work for the first band only.
  • Fix: Upsampling could crash on hosts with multicored initialization.
  • Fix: Range in flangers didn’t show correct value.

MeldaProduction’s effect plug-ins are available to purchase for Windows and Mac (VST/AU), either separately or part of a bundle.

Semerika releases FlangerHand

Semerika FlangerHand

Semerika has released FlangerHand, a free effect plug-in for Windows.

The FlangerHand plug-in is based on the idea of early flanging effect realised on a setup of up to 4 tape machines (1 source, 3 recorders) in the 60′s. The playback-head output from two recorders was mixed together onto a third recorder. The “flange” effect originated when an engineer would literally put a finger on the flange, or rim of one of the tape reels so that the machine was slowed down, slipping out of sync by tiny degrees. A listener would hear a “drainpipe” sweeping effect as shifting sum-and-difference harmonics were created. When the operator removed his finger the tape sped up again, making the effect sweep back in the other direction. This is where the FlangerHand takes the flanging back in the days of tape recorders and enhances it with new fresh features.

FlangerHand features

  • Attack, releases, feedback (FB), delay time (D-TIME), main and wet controls.
  • Inverse switch flips the starting point of the built-in effect unit from 0ms to the value of the Delay-Time parameter. As a result it fades out to the value of Delay-Time after releasing the Start-Button. In this case the effect volume fades out as usual.
  • 5 filter settings, for which frequency the wet signal is going to be filtered by a 18db/oct High-Pass filter.
  • Curve selection: linear, fast or slow fade-in curve.
  • LFO with Sine and Triangle waveform, rate & amount controls (Amount of LFO fade in/out is according to the Attack, Release and Curve settings).

FlangerHand is available to download as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows PC.
