Homegrown Sounds releases Gratis IR for IRIS

Homegrown Sounds Gratis IR

Homegrown Sounds has launched Gratis IR, a free sound library for iZotope IRIS.

Gratis IR as the name suggests is a completely free collection of Pads for Izotope IRIS which is equal to half of one of the paid collections. Although some samples are used from the other IRIS releases, the actual IRIS instruments are all unique to Gratis IR.

The instruments were constructed using 1-3 Samples and take full advantage of the Spectral Features of IRIS, and most have Aftertouch assigned to the Filter Cutoff. The intention was to provide musically useful Pads full of texture and movement. All 100 WAVs that form the Gratis Sample collection are also available to explore when creating your own sounds.

Falls A Star releases free Octave Riot plugin

Falls A Star

Falls A Star has released Octave Riot, a free octave divider effect plug-in for Windows.

Octave Riot is an octave divider in the Boss OC-2 style (flipping signal polarity rather than generating square waves) with some extra features.

The divider subtracts a moving average from its input sample, and that may or may not be why there are a few settings that will actually work as an octave *up* effect.

The plugin is available as freeware for Windows (VST).
