Steinberg has announced the release of Neo Soul Keys, a virtual electric piano combining amazingly authentic sampling with Steinberg’s acclaimed HALion technology.
Recreating the sound of one of the most popular electric pianos of the past, Neo Soul Keys brings the vintage keyboard sound to the musician’s fingertips.
“Neo Soul Keys takes virtual e-pianos to a new level! It’s amazing just how authentic and vivid the play and feel of this instrument has become,” remarked Matthias Quellmann, product marketing manager at Steinberg.
In collaboration with Gospel Musicians, Neo Soul Keys offers users a unique and authentic-sounding e-piano experience. Based on the powerful HALion engine and sampled with 12 velocity layers for sustain, release and staccato notes, the Neo Soul Keys virtual electric piano features sound quality and playability on par with the real world.

Gospel Musicians has announced the release of the Pure Sine Synthesizer sound library for UVI Player Workstation and MachFive 3.
Capitalizing on UVI/MachFive’s built in wavetable and analog synthesis, Pure Sine focuses on bringing pure sines, pulses, saws, square, and triangle waves used in today’s modern hip-hop, R&B, trance, dub-step, and urban genres. Pure Sine’s interface focuses on the most important synthesis controls in order to quickly program leads, basses, kicks, 808s, pads, effects, blips and a new urban stacked sine pad used in live gigs and on many pop albums. The only samples used for the sound creation are the EP’s and strings to produce the sine pad, but the rest of the waveforms are produced using MachFive’s extensive wavetable and analog synthesis algorithms.
Pure Sine takes advantage of UVI’s advanced scripting engine to provide an extensive GUI and built-in scripts to take advantage of the classic analog sounding legato, portamento, and glide functions needed to produce the classic slide/glide sound for synth basses and leads that do not re-trigger if played in a legato fashion.
Pure Sine Synth features
Glide Time slider.
Sub Oscillator switch and level.
Able to adjust the pitch bend up/down amount.
Mod Wheel LFO for classic “Wobble” bass sound.
LFO able to sync to host DAW.
MIDI Learn function for all controls.
Octo switch for instant octave bass and lead sounds.
New Advanced portamento function to produces glide between notes,?even when they are played in a non-overlapping fashion.
Tape Delay effect.
Dedicated Octave Buttons for high leads and low basses.
Works with UVI Free Player.
The sample library is available to purchase for $79.99 USD.
Gospel Musicians has announced the release of Neo-Soul EX5, an expansion for Neo-Soul Keys 3X and version 1 users.
Capitalizing from Yamaha’s vintage FDSP technology for the EX5 Synthesizer Workstations, Neo-Soul EX5 is an electric piano sample that has been ran through Yamaha’s FDSP EP Pickup technology and added to the scripting of Neo-Soul Keys. The physical modeling of the EP pickup through FDSP ads an extra realism to the sample library. In addition, running the samples through the A/D filters of the EX5 ads a character and warmth to the electric piano.
The Neo-Soul EX5 contains all of the original effects as Neo-Soul Keys, except the sustain samples contains the new EX5 samples. This makes the expansion pack a hybrid EP.
Neo-Soul EX5 is available to purchase for $29.99 USD. Requires Neo-Soul Keys V1 or Neo-Soul Keys 3X. The Neo-Soul Xpansion pack works with Kontakt 5 Player.
We all love the advent of computer music and the idea of taking a laptop to a gig with you, but there is still something to be said for hardware. Imagine having the reliability of hardware, at the same time, having the same detail, precision, and clarity of a plugin.

B-Piano Upright, an old, out of tune, mechanically imperfect but still usable upright piano.
A-Piano Grand piano,an old French Gaveau piano. Gaveau was a French piano manufacturer. The company was established in 1847 in Paris and used to be one of the three largest piano makers in France (after Érard and Pleyel). This particular piano was build in 1960 and is refereed to as a “crapaud” (“Petite Grand” in English), which means that it’s a little smaller than a “quart de queue” (baby grand). It has a very particular sound, very bright and full of “inharmonicity” in the bass due to the short length of the strings.
Kawai-EX Pro sample Library, a powerful and bright 9-foot (276cm) Kawai EX concert grand piano that used to be in the Kennedy center in Washington DC.
Academic Grand, a 1963 Steinway D concert grand which has seen countless recitals and concerts over the years where it served as the University of Arkansas’ primary concert instrument.
Old Black Grand, an old Pleyel Grand Piano (F-71240 model from 1928) with vintage gear like a Studer console and tube microphones, it has the rich and warm sound of the old jazz/blues or even classical music recordings.
3-Velocity layers per piano.
Full sustain notes (no looping).
Separate volume assignments for release and sustain sounds.
Fits on 512MB RAM or Flash.
44kHz/16-bit Stereo Samples.
The libraries are available to purchase for the introductory price of $49.99 USD each (regular $99.99 USD), or in a bundle of all five for $199.99 USD (regular $299.99 USD) until November 5th, 2012.
Gospel Musicians has announced the release of its Neo-Soul Keys 3X sample library for the Kontakt 5 Free Player by Native Instruments.
Neo-Soul Keys 3X is an upgrade to the original Neo-Soul Keys. Unlike the original Neo-Soul Keys which only featured a Suitcase Mark I EP, the new 3X adds a dirty Stage Mark I and a Wurlitzer emulation. More importantly, we added a ton of mechanical noises to add grit, dirt, and realism to your EP experience. Our number one goal was realism and to give you the most organic experience ever in an EP library. We went to great lengths to make sure that if you could not take your heavy electro-mechanical instrument to your gig, or session, then our EP library would be the next best thing. A heavy amount of detail, thought, and programming went into this library as it boasts almost 8.0GB of sample data using Kontakt 5′s new scripting engine and features. The details make a difference and you will clearly hear the meticulous amount of detail that went into sampling every nuance and mechanical noises necessary for a complete EP experience!
We have also added the new Mark I Stage electric piano version for the Yamaha Motif XS/XF keyboards. This version has all of the knobs that are on the Kontakt version assigned to 8-different sliders for the Yamaha Motif keyboards. This gives you a lot of power, flexibility, and realism. Our goal was to make sure that the Stage EP would sound exactly the same as the Kontakt version. For the XF, you can load your EP in the Flash boards andload one time and it stays in memory.
