Soundiron has announced the release of Angklung and Sick 3: Dark Places, two new sample libraries for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Angklung is a unique instrument from Indonesia with a particular, short bamboo percussive flavor. At 3.5GB and over 6700 samples, our Angklung library features both dry studio and wet hall recordings. The Hall recordings also features three blendable mic positions and sustaining rattles with releases.

Our Sick series has evolved to a whole new level with the release of Sick 3, just in time for Halloween. Sick 3 features 4.39GB of professional dark/suspense/horror environments and over 300 custom convolution impulses. We also hand-crafted horrific demonic creatures, feverish states of sonic delirium, monstrously shambling slavering hordes and discordant fever dreams.

The libraries are available for the introductory price of $59 USD each until 7 Novermber, 2012 at 11:59 PM PST (regular $79 USD).

Sampleism has announced its October 2012 Giveaway, a free collection of sounds and patches.

I must admit, I am truly astounded by the quality on offer here – I am humbled by the awesome people that use Sampleism and tip my hat to them all for creating such amazing audio for everybody to enjoy. Respect!

reFX has also updated Nexus2 to version 2.4.0, including faster loading times.

Changes in Nexus v2.4.0

• Most presets load about twice as fast now! If you have a fast SSD, loading times are mostly instantenous, even with bigger presets.
• The mix-page had to be changed slightly. The oscillators are now on their own tab to make room for four additional layers (for a total of eight now) and four additional oscillators (also a total of eight now). Future exansions will utilize this. The free “Halloween”-Expansion already does this!
• The support-file now detects Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 correctly.
• Re-enabled the Live section. From now on updates are downloaded again.
• Removed invisible, but audible, MIDI-CC #7 and CC #11. A few users unintentionally used these and thus changed the output-volume.
• Fixed: Arp-glide was sometimes unintentionally enabled for some sequences at certain speeds and tempo.
• Fixed: The reverb would flutter very lightly under very specific circumstances and only with VERY low frequencies.
• Fixed: Minor bug-fixes and optimizations.
