HyperSynth has released version 1.1 of Oresus, a virtual synthesizer plug-in for Windows.

Oresus is a synthesizer with huge range of tonal possibilities and intuitive user interface, It introduces WSM (wave shape modulation) and complex oscillator to produce new waveshapes from two raw sub oscillators. Oresus features two filters with 12 modes, these filters are configurable as parallel and serial or even as a combination of both to achieve new filter types. A modulation matrix with 18 sources and 23 destinations provides an extensive choice for modulation purposes.

Changes in Oresus v1.1

  • Added mono/stereo unison up to 5 voices.
  • Added link option in “stereo unison” mode for filter 1, 2.
  • Added Step LFO module that is integrated with gate steps.
  • Fixed gate sync problem while playing more than one note.
  • Fixed an issue that did not allow “WSM A>B” to be saved in preset.
  • Fixed a problem which caused to generate unwanted DC offset in PW modulation.
  • Fixed hard coded key-track malfunction that attenuated high notes very much.
  • Redesigned gate module graphics.

Oresus is available to purchase as a VST instrument for Windows PC for $45 USD.

HyperSynth ION-editor

HyperSynth has released version 1.3 of ION-editor, a MIDI-editor for the Alesis ION and Micron analog modeling synthesizers.

Ion-editor is a MIDI-editor for advanced controlling over the famous Alesis ION and Micron analog modeling synthesizers in your DAW. The same screens like the original ion LCD display make the tweaking easy for parameters that need more descriptive information like filter panning, arpeggio, mod matrix and tracking generator.

Changes in ION-editor v1.3

  • Added a warning message which blocks requesting patch from bank0/program0 in micron-mode.
  • Fixed FM level accuracy problem.
  • Fixed “OSC 1,2,3 Fine tune” accuracy problem.
  • Fixed FM level issue that overwrited micron with wrong value after updating edit buffer.
  • Fixed “FX1 vocoder decay” range issue.
  • Fixed “FX2 reverb color” range issue.
  • Fixed “FX2 delay time synced” that could not be updated via sysex.
  • Fixed problem which caused FX1 and FX2 knobs to be disappeared.
  • Fixed FX1 “LFO shape” and “Tempo sync” malfunctions after request patch.
  • Fixed Filter 2 freq knob sensitivity issue which responded to mouse movement quickly.
  • MIDI in mode (transmit-block) is no longer saved in preset.

ION-editor is available as a VST plug-in for Windows PC for $30 USD.

HyperSynth ION-editor

HyperSynth has released version 1.1 of ION-editor, a MIDI-editor for advanced controlling over the famous Alesis ION and Micron analog modeling synthesizers in your DAW.

For rejecting the mouse flicker and reducing zippering noise on MIDI port every knob is specifically programmed to transmit the MIDI messages like a real hardware MIDI controller so ion-editor knobs don’t generate several unwanted data with the same value which is a common issue in the most of the other MIDI-editors. The same pages like the original ion LCD display make the tweaking easy for parameters that need more descriptive information like filter panning, arpeggio, mod matrix and tracking generator.

Changes in ION-editor v1.1

  • Added support for Alesis Micron synthesizer.
  • Added new readout option for filter frequency the same as ion display.
  • Added “All notes off” button that shuts off all eight voices like double-press of home button on ion.
  • Now LFO1, 2 and S/H rate show frequency in hz instead of percentage.
  • Fixed a problem which did not allow automation for filter2 frequency.
  • Fixed a bug in ENVs “freerun” and “loop” which caused unwanted loop enabled in empty presets.
  • Midi in switch no longer blocks notes which are coming from the host.
  • Preset manager no longer remembers the changes until you save a preset.
  • Faster startup.

ION-editor is available as a VST plug-in for Windows PC for $30 USD. A demo version of the plug-in can be downloaded from the product page.

HyperSynth updates HyperSID to v1.2

HyperSynth HyperSID (hardware)

HyperSynth has released version 1.2 (including HW unit OS) of HyperSID, a subtractive synthesizer with all the C64 SID chip hardware capabilities besides many new software based features.

OS v1.2 has been completely redesigned and some long standing issues have been fixed. In this release all the processing tasks are handled by HW unit. The big flaw in the previous versions was the low update rate of modulation sources but now the HW unit is capable of filling SID registers with update rates up to 28000 Hz.

The VSTi plug-in represents a step forward in controlling the new LFO and envelope modules with great preciseness and resolution up to 14 bit for each parameter plus an ultra fast arpeggiator module to emulate C64 like sound. Due to many requests, HyperSynth has published “HyperSID MIDI CC-NRPN Chart” in the website as a document, and suggests that “it’s time for Mac users to start building their own control surface”.

Changes in HyperSID v1.2

  • New optimized and improved OS for HW unit with 28000Hz update rate on SID register.
  • High resolution HW based LFO, ENV and arpeggiator.
  • 2x faster startup for software plugin.
  • Several bug fixes and lots more.
