Intelligent Sounds & Music has announced the release of SCAF, a sidechain-controlled amp & filter effect plug-in for Windows.
SCAF consists of a filter and an amplifier section. Both can be controlled by any track in your project. The routing between the tracks is done via internal host-independent side chains.
The sections are independent so the filter’s cutoff frequency might follow the volume envelope of one track’s signal while an other track conducts the amplifier.
You set the start and endpoints for gain and cutoff frequency. So the amp section can work in compressing or expanding mode. And the filter can sweep from low to high frequencies or vice versa while the controlling signals volume rises from zero to full scale.
SCAF is available to purchase as a VST effect plug-in for Windows PC, priced at 32 EUR.
Intelligent Sounds & Music has also released version 1.03 of MuSiCX, a multiband sidechain compressor & expander effect plug-in for PC.

- A side chain will be released now when the transmitting instance of MuSiCX is switched off.
- The last buffer sent before a side chain was released was repeated in the receiving instance till a new transmitter took over the same side chain.
- Disabled sliders were not repainted correctly in the previous version when the editor was closed and reopened.

Intelligent Sounds & Music has released EQISM.220, a parametric equalizer effect plug-in for Windows.
EQISM.220 is a parametric equalizer with five adjacent bands separated by filters of 2nd to 20th order. It’s focus is ease & fun of use.
The second order filter section is sufficient for most mixing tasks. And it is free. There is no demo noise in the unregistered version as long as you use 2nd order.
The filters of higher order make EQISM.220 a sound wizard for skilled users. They have the power to cut deep into your sounds and attenuate or amplify even smallest frequency bands as exact as you like.
EQISM.220 is available as a VST effect plug-in for Windows PC, priced at 28 EUR. Since it is a subset of MuSiCX it is free for registered MuSiCX users. An upgrade (EQISM->MuSiCX) will be available soon.

Each of these bands’ envelope generators are controlled by pre-filtered signals of any track in a project. The routing between the tracks is done via internal host-independent side chains.
MuSiCX can be used as a mixing tool, e.g. to enhance a vocalist’s articulation, or as an effect for, e.g., synth pads pumping with the frequencies of a drum track’s instruments – or maybe “more intelligent” ducking. Of course MuSiCX can also be a “usual” multi-band compressor or even an equaliser.
