iZotope has announced the release of Nectar Elements, the latest addition to the Nectar family of vocal plug-in effects.

Built on the same award-winning DSP as Nectar, Nectar Elements features an easy-to-use interface designed with the singer-songwriter, podcaster, or home recordist in mind. With ten vocal processing effects working behind the scenes, Nectar Elements simplifies vocal production, allowing users to focus on their sound, not their set-up.

Get your samplers ready, it’s time for another sample remix contest!

If you have previously participated in one of these contests you know the drill: Compose a track using the samples included in the download only, for a chance to win some great prizes.

You may process the samples any way you like, as long as you don’t use any additional instruments, samples, recordings, or other sound sources.

The download includes a total of 115 samples (24bit/44kHz WAV), including sounds contributed by Horatiu-Cristian Petrila of 3ee Sound Design.

The samples are basically all one-shot sounds, no loops this time. They are also deliberately without key information, the idea being that you explore the sounds and be inspired by what you find, rather than connecting the dots in a construction kit style approach.

• Your entry should be composed specifically for this contest. By entering, you grant permission for your track to be published at the rekkerd.org website, through SoundCloud.
• In order to be eligible to win, contestants are required to vote for their top 5 within a week after the contest deadline. Contestants will be contacted to submit their votes. Note: you cannot vote for your own entry.

Numark has announced that the Serato DJ software is now compatible with its NS6 controller.

The live-performance-centric design of NS6 combined with the advanced feature set in Serato DJ software will give DJs a powerful and seamless experience with their music and their audience.

iZotope has updated its Ozone 5 mastering effects suite to version 5.03.

iZotope’s complete mastering system in a single integrated plug-in includes eight essential mastering tools: Maximizer, Equalizer, Multiband Dynamics, Multiband Stereo Imaging, Post Equalizer, Multiband Harmonic Exciter, Reverb, and Dithering.

Ozone 5 Advanced adds seven additional component plug-ins, extended features in every module, and a comprehensive suite of configurable meters.

Numark has announced the Mixtrack Pro II, an enhanced and updated version of Mixtrack Pro, the world’s best-selling DJ controller.
